Bravest Studios Reveals Its Denim Paisley Clog

In just a few years of business, New York-based brand Bravest Studios has ventured into footwear. Tapping into the ever-popular trend of mules, it kicked things off with a “Mocha Paisley” presentation of its Birkenstock Boston bootleg. Now, it returns just one month later with a “Denim Paisley” finish that draws inspiration from classic Americana looks, while also making some adjustments to the silhouette. Its presentation begins with the “Denim Paisley” upper — utilizing a washed denim with the paisley pattern screen printed atop it. Its blank strap opts for a bold “B” logo buckle this time around with a “Bravest Studios” branding hit resting just below, matching the note that appears at the cork footbed. Supporting the sneaker, a curved heel cup shape has been paired with an all-terrain EVA sole. From there, a custom paisley box and a branded bandana also accompany the pair.Release for the Bravest Studios Denim Paisley Clog goes down on September 29 via the Bravest Studios website. It is set to be available at 2pm EDT at a price of $98 USD with an estimated 4-6 weeks before delivery. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Bravest Studios New York (@bravest)For more of the latest news from the footwear space, be sure to check out a very different style of slip-on — the Hershey x Crocs Classic Clog capsule.

Official Look at the Above the Clouds x ASICS GT-2160

Update: Following a teaser back in July, Above the Clouds and ASICS have officially revealed their “Cream/Shamrock Green” take on the GT-2160. As expected, its thorough detailing sees the aforementioned hues join silver hits to craft a shimmering finish that blends the two entities. Release is set to go down on October 13 at 11am EDT via ASICS at a price of $150 USD. For more info, check out our initial coverage below.Original Story: When ASICS debuted the GT-2160 in 2011, it was created as a high-performance, budget-conscious stability shoe for runners who needed enhanced motion control but weren’t willing to shell out top dollar for the Kayano line (the GT-2160 retailed for $100 USD, while the Kayano 17 was priced at $140 USD, or, in 2023 dollars, $135 USD and $190 USD). Now, however, the GT-2160 has begun a fruitful second life as a casual option. It was revealed alongside the announcement of ASICS’ partnership with Stefon Diggs, it’s already been reinterpreted by Dime and Cecillie Bahnsen, and now it’s getting its third collaborative makeover at the hands of Australia’s Above The Clouds.Revealed by @cakenontcrumbs, the Above the Clouds x ASICS GT-2160 is, in a word, intricate. It’s dressed in a mix of shimmering metallic silver, a duo of earthy greens and a cool blue tone that sits somewhere between sky and sea. There’s also an interesting material medley to be seen on the upper thanks to a standard mesh collar and heel that’s juxtaposed with a translucent TPE midfoot and toebox. Finishing details are supplied by cream laces, a bronze lace keeper and a specially-branded insole. This link-up marks Above the Clouds’ third go-around with ASICS after a 10th-anniversary-celebrating GEL-1090 that released in 2020 and a low-key SKYCOURT that dropped in 2021.At the time of writing, there’s no official release date or pricing information for the Above the Clouds x ASICS GT-2160. However, more info is likely to surface soon. For more from the world of footwear be sure to check out the latest installment of Hypebeast’s Sole Mates, a weekly series where notable individuals in the world of street culture speak about their favorite shoes.
