Salehe Bembury’s Versace Trigreca sneaker has been a staple of the Donatella Versace-helmed House since Fall/Winter 2020, and now as part of the sneaker’s Spring/Summer 2023 update, the brand has unveiled a conceptual “behind the scenes”-style video of how the sneaker is made.It spotlights the new SS23 pair, arriving in a predominantly white design with touches of blue decorating the branded leather tongue tag and very top eyelet, and black cladding the signature sole unit and heel branding. The shoe is packed with House iconography, giving the pair its name thanks to the use of the Versace Greca motif appearing on the toe stripes, midsoles, and outsoles. Elsewhere, the Medusa symbol sinks into the sole, while Versace’s Milanese HQ — Via Gesù, 12 — sees its coordinates printed on the uppers in gold-toned letters and numbers. The proprietary Greca Cushioning System, designed especially for Versace by Bembury, underpins the more muted SS23 iteration, but ultimately adds that unavoidable Versace flair. In the video, we see technical workings of how the sole unit is made and painted by a robot, before the very same robot wears the sneaker like a shoe last.Take a look at the video above, and find more Trigreca goodness on Versace’s website.Elsewhere, Mr. Bailey has teased another conceptual adidas collaboration.

Take a First Look at Clints’ TRL 2.0 “Japan”
Manchester-based streetwear label Clints has just presented a first look at its new TRL 2.0 sneaker and this latest iteration of the silhouette takes inspiration from the lands of Japan.Since the brand’s inception in 2020, Clints has been experimenting with footwear as much as possible. From its first edition of the TRL sneaker and the Patta-co-signed Stepper to the recently-introduced Stomper boot, Clints is consistently making a bigger mark on the saturated world we call UK streetwear. And while Clints founder Junior Clint began working in fashion as a footwear designer, his brand is making waves in apparel designs, too. Recent highlights have seen the brand combine 1990s sportswear with coziness, while other drops have seen it step into the world of outerwear.Clints’ latest sneaker follows up on the Paris-inspired version that dropped during its pop-up store in the French capital earlier this year. However, this new version of the silhouette combines a fresh batch of understated tones that encapsulates Japan.Designed as a classic trek shoe, the TRL 2.0 features a Neoprene upper, while layered paneling is used for increased ankle and foot support. Furthermore, rubber branding is used on the heels and branded toe puff, while an EVA midsole and reflective 3M details round off the design. You can take a closer look at the latest TRL 2.0 iteration above and be sure to keep an eye on the brand’s official Instagram page for further release details. In other news, check out the new Nike Dunk Low Disrupt 2.
Mizuno Launches Three-Part “Noh Men” Footwear Pack
Mizuno has launched a trio of its cardinal silhouettes, the Contender S, Sky Medal, and Wave Rider 10 inspired by three Japanese Noh masks used for classical dance-drama performances during the 14th century. Each mask is sculpted from a single piece of sturdy wood and painted with natural pigments in a manner that simulates facial expressions, capturing the audience’s imagination.Launched in 2007 to celebrate 10 years of the Wave Rider series, Tuan Lee’s Wave Rider 10 pairs a open-mesh base with a swirling array of perforated suede panels in retro styling. Taking inspiration from the oldest Okina mask, the pairs are found in “Opal Grey” and cream hues with the Kanji word “翁” representing wisdom fixed on the heel window.Contender S, fitted with the original impact-to-response H2 build found in golf balls, is inspired by the fox-faced Kitsune mask with corresponding “狐” text on the heel. Last but not least in the trio is the classic 1993 Sky Medal sneaker first seen at Barcelona’s ’92 Olympic Games. Combining moulded EVA tooling with Transtab cushioning, the pairs come in “Black Oyster” and “Ketchup” hues referencing Tengu masks which are said to ward off evil spirits.Take a closer look at the Mizuno “Noh Men” Pack above. Pairs in the series are set to release at a recommended retail price of between £110 GBP and £145 GBP (approximately $135 and $145 USD) via Mizuno and select retailers on March 31.Elsewhere in footwear, Mr. Bailey previews another adidas Originals “OZLUCENT” sneaker concept.
