Prada’s Foam Rubber Booties Reimagine Classic Galoshes

Prada’s squishy footwear movement prevails — following the debut of its chunky, rubber slip-on mules in May, the Italian luxury house has launched an all-new spongy silhouette for fashion fans to quarrel about.Enter Prada’s Foam Rubber Booties, a contemporary reinterpretation of traditional galoshes. Arriving in Black, Red and Light Blue, the rubbery boots build up the calf from the label’s previously-released mule and incorporate an embossed triangle logo on the outer-facing side of both components.Atop a bulky, rubber sole, the silhouette employs a seamless, single-shade upper construction with subtle contouring on the front and the Prada name etched onto the heel. Meanwhile, the foamy boots operate on a rubber tread with a geometric, lenticular design.Prada’s Foam Rubber Booties mark the latest entry in the squishy footwear vertical, which evidently remains a popular design tactic among a myriad of fashion labels. (See our latest Behind the HYPE on foamy footwear’s glow-up for a full deep dive on the subject, here.)Listed for $750 USD, Prada’s Foam Rubber Booties are now available to shop on the brand’s website. Take a look at the modern silhouette in the gallery above. In more footwear news, the Air Jordan 12 Low Golf is now available in the iconic “French Blue” colorway.

Prada Drops a Trio of Raf Simons-Designed Sports Sandals

Strap in, as Prada has just dropped a trio of sporty sandals fit for summer. Designed under Raf Simons and Miuccia Prada’s joint creative direction, the luxury house presents two sets of sandals — one made from padded Nappa leather, and another serving a sportier aesthetic thanks to its mix of leather and nylon tape.Kicking off with the Nappa pairs, we find the sandal in “Black” or “White” colorways and both are fitted with a clean amount of branding, marking its presence on the lateral front-quarter strap and on the insole. Per the brand, “These sporty sandals are the perfect expression of Prada’s ‘traveling man,’ for whom sophisticated tones and a sporty design mix in a new aesthetic dialogue.” And indeed they are sporty, as the pair receives a sole unit taken from Prada’s Cloudbust Thunder, thus giving the sandal a chunky, lugged attitude that’ll make the silhouette more versatile come fall and winter. As for the black sporty leather and nylon tape sandals, Prada presents a more understated tone that’s accentuated by the brand’s signature metal clip and nylon straps. Leather makes a subtle appearance, predominantly working the inner-angle straps, while nylon adds a tactile edge to the flatter-soled pair. Here, the only addition of Prada branding can be found on the insole, stamped in the house’s silver block cap font.Prada’s padded Nappa sandals retail for $1,220 USD, while the sporty nylon-equipped pair come in at $895 USD. Adidas Wants You on Camping Grounds With Its Retro-Tinged Gazelle

adidas’ Gazelle has had a busy few months. The classic silhouette has explored various avenues of different colorways and collaborations with the likes of Sean Wotherspoon and Gucci, but now adidas is back with a new solo iteration of the shoe in a “Shadow Olive” and “Impact Yellow” colorway. This new Gazelle throws things back to its first-ever edition in 1991 and takes inspiration from life at music festivals and on the camping grounds. But when first meeting the eye, some comparisons could be made to adidas’ Madrid shoe from the brand’s “City” series with its earthy tones giving a protective layer against muddy landscapes. For the new adidas Gazelle, a “Shadow Olive” hue has been used across the soft leather upper, while the translucent “Gum” colored outsole has been used to give the shoe a textured finish. The “Impact Yellow” color scheme has been used on the customary Three Stripes alongside more adidas branding. Yellow is also used on the adidas Trefoil, complemented by the “Shadow Olive” laces that are integrated with a textile lining and tight lace closures. You can have a closer look at the new adidas Gazelle in “Shadow Olive” and “Impact Yellow” above and it is now available on the official adidas website for $100 USD.In other footwear news, take an on-foot look at the adidas YEEZY 450 “Utility Black.”
