Nike Blazer Mid ’77 Jumbo Taps Into This Year’s Buzziest Color

The Nike Blazer was originally released in 1972, and in its 50 years of life the style has remained largely the same, bar collaborations with the likes of Virgil Abloh’s Off-White™ and some other unique reworks, such as the Blazer Mid ’77 Jumbo. Now, the pair has surfaced in a spring-ready colorway of “White/Green.”There’s no hiding the power of green this year, following various brands getting in on the hype from Bottega Veneta which started it, to high street brands such as COS. Now, Nike gets in on the action by decking the pair’s oversized Swoosh in the familiar tone of green, which not only cuts through the white upper perfectly, but also does a great job of showing the quality of the leather with its pebbled grain on full show.Elsewhere around the shoe, we find white suede work the toe bumper and mudguard, while leather has been used for the majority of the shoe’s construction. Rounding out the pair, and simultaneously updating the classic style, is the heel which is made from a rib-knit material that also sports green Nike branding alongside a yellowed heel tab.The Nike Blazer Mid ’77 Jumbo “White/Green” is expected to release in spring 2022. Take a closer look at the pair above. In other news, COMME des GARÇONS PLAY’s Converse collaborations have restocked.

Awake NY’s ASICS GEL-Kayano Trainer 21 Is Dropping Later This Week

In light of the sudden passing of legendary designer Virgil Abloh, Awake NY founder and creative director Angelo Baque revealed that all proceeds from his brand’s forthcoming GEL-Kayano Trainer 21 collaboration with ASICS would be donated to the Virgil Abloh™ “Post-Modern” Scholarship Fund.Ahead of its official release later this week, the pair have now offered up a closer look at one of the two sneakers dropping with a series of campaign images captured in the heart of Miami, the city Baque drew inspiration from for this release.Incorporating the same tooling from the 2014 GEL-Kayano 21, this latest take preserves the nineties mono-sock design and houses classic GEL cushioning in the heel and forefoot to evolve the retro runner with performance functionality. Doused in “Grey/Silver” to serve as a neutral sneaker option for everyday wear, the capsule also features a teal iteration inspired by Miami’s architecture, which can be seen here. The Awake NY x ASICS GEL-Kayano Trainer 21 is set to drop on December 10 and will be available via the Awake NY webstore. In other sneaker news, info for the Patta x Nike Air Max 1 “Black” has been released.

Notitle.ltd Wraps the adidas Originals Superstar In a Cozy Duvet

adidas Originals has given the Superstar various makeovers in its lifetime, but none (bar the likes of Jeremy Scott) have been as avant-garde as the upcoming collaboration with notitle.ltd.notitle.ltd is a creative house that refuses to be called an “agency,” instead wanting to be better known for thinking of creative and inspiring solutions for brands to make an impact. This ethos lead it to work with Hiroshi Fujiwara‘s THE CONVENI back in September 2020, and now it opens its creativity to an adidas Originals Superstar collaboration.Dubbed the “AEROSTAR,” the collaborative Superstar comes in two iterations: white or black. The classic leather base has been completely covered in a puffy nylon shield, looking like a duvet for your feet. This covering overlays the tongue and lace area, the mid-panels, the tongue, the collar, heel, and elsewhere around the shoe, and goes without heavy use of branding so to allow the redesign to speak for itself. View this post on InstagramA post shared by Notitle.ltd (@notitle.ltd)While product images are somewhat vague, it seems that the tongue area comes together with the use of velcro to make the duvet upper fold on itself, however, this can be undone to make the shoe even more voluminous with the tongue sections sticking out from the sides — which can be seen in the video above.Three Stripes are still found in their original place, however are very subtle and are hard to see at first glance. The same goes for the branding, which hits up the padded heel with a reversed adidas Trefoil logo gracing the top, and notitle.ltd’s moniker appearing on the heel piece if lifted up to reveal.notitle.ltd’s adidas Originals Superstar “AEROSTAR” is set to drop at retailers such as Billy’s Tokyo and atmos Tokyo on December 11, costing ¥16,500 JPY (approximately $145 USD).In other news, COMME des GARÇONS PLAY’s Converse collaborations have restocked.
