Nike Blazer Mid ’77 Jumbo Taps Into This Year’s Buzziest Color

The Nike Blazer was originally released in 1972, and in its 50 years of life the style has remained largely the same, bar collaborations with the likes of Virgil Abloh’s Off-White™ and some other unique reworks, such as the Blazer Mid ’77 Jumbo. Now, the pair has surfaced in a spring-ready colorway of “White/Green.”There’s no hiding the power of green this year, following various brands getting in on the hype from Bottega Veneta which started it, to high street brands such as COS. Now, Nike gets in on the action by decking the pair’s oversized Swoosh in the familiar tone of green, which not only cuts through the white upper perfectly, but also does a great job of showing the quality of the leather with its pebbled grain on full show.Elsewhere around the shoe, we find white suede work the toe bumper and mudguard, while leather has been used for the majority of the shoe’s construction. Rounding out the pair, and simultaneously updating the classic style, is the heel which is made from a rib-knit material that also sports green Nike branding alongside a yellowed heel tab.The Nike Blazer Mid ’77 Jumbo “White/Green” is expected to release in spring 2022.
