“Anthracite” Covers This Nike Air Max TW

Borrowing design cues from the Air Max Tailwind, the recently introduced Air Max TW offers yet another blend of familiar Nike detailing. It is one of many refreshed models in the Nike Air Max line, again flipping a retro style into a contemporary look.Specifications of the Nike Air Max TW and its “Anthracite” colorway begin with an upper that balances leather and mesh throughout. While the color palette ranges from a dark “Anthracite” to simply black, the intricacies of the silhouette’s design give this pair a unique look. Elements such as the sneaker’s repeating linework emphasized on the upper, Nike Air logo on the heel and small lateral Swooshes make a return once again. Lastly, the Air Max Tailwind-inspired sole unit notably features oversized Air bubbles at the heel to complete this colorway. No release details regarding the Nike Air Max TW “Anthracite” have been shared by the Swoosh yet. However, look for it to hit shelves in the coming months via Nike and select retailers at a price of $160 USD.In other footwear news, the Nike Dunk High EMB makes its return with cracked leather detailing throughout its light brown and white upper.

Better™️ Gift Shop Honors the Hong Luck Kung Fu Club With New Vault by Vans Collaboration

Better™️ Gift Shop has a knack for making collaborative collections. In the past, Avi Gold’s imprint has teamed up with the likes Beats, Salomon and more, and now it’s going to be reuniting with Vault by Vans to create a two-pronged footwear assemblage.Inspiration for this team-up is derived from Better™️ Gift Shop’s own storefront. On the Style 36 VLT, you’ll find the it accented with a bold “Forest Green” hue to represent the exterior of its Toronto building while a marshmallow midsole piece rides down below. Long-hair suede base layers on the Half Cab VLT are formed with “Burgundy” and “Pewter” color-blocking to nod to the retail space’s storefront gates and come stacked above stealthy bottoms. Each take comes fashioned with translucent waffle treading to allow you to see its artistic backdrops as well as lace tips embellished with Better™ Gift Shop branding. Additionally, the shoes are housed in custom boxes that illustrate the brand’s flagship store in Toronto.“Community is everything, and we’ve always wanted to design a shoe that takes inspiration from our surroundings,” said the Better™ Gift Shop team. “Working with our neighbors is something we’ve always wanted to do, and Vans gave us that opportunity. Incorporating the Hong Luck Kung Fu Club was a natural integration into the campaign.”Peep the campaign images above and mark your calendars for an October 8 release via Better™️ Gift Shop, Dover Street Market and BEAMS.In other news, One Piece has a Van Authentic collaboration on the way.

COMME Des GARÇONS SHIRT Explores the ASICS Running and Basketball Archives On Latest Collaboration

COMME Des GARÇONS SHIRT may have a name that indicates an inherent familiarity with top-half-of-body garments, but they’re well-versed in the world of footwear as well. The COMME Des GARÇONS sub-label has a consistent partnership with ASICS, and the most recent byproduct of their creative fusion is a three-pack of monochromatic collabs that pull from the ASICS running and basketball archives. The two partners have produced a duo of takes on the OC Runner, a throwback (you guessed it) running shoe and a single iteration of the Japan S, an old-school hoops sneaker. The OC Runner is available in both high-gloss black and matte white, while the Japan S is available in all-white and features a pixelated graphic from street artist Invader, who’s also worked with CdG SHIRT on an apparel collection in the past. Each shoe is crafted from supple premium leather and both of the OC Runners boast a contrasting tongue badge. The simplicity of this new three-pack is a rather striking departure from the collaborative ethos established on the previous COMME Des GARÇONS SHIRT x ASICS collaborations. In 2022, the two covered the GEL-LYTE III in a colorful camo print and in 2021 they used everything from sparkling details to multi-colored leopard print to the Tarther, an obscure running sneaker. Earlier this year, they even offered up a monochromatic leopard-printed set of takes on the GEL-Lyte V.The COMME Des GARÇONS SHIRT x ASICS OC Runner and Japan are both available now via select retailers, with the former priced at $390 USD.For more footwear news, be sure to check out Sole Mates, a weekly Hypebeast series that spotlights notable individuals in the world of street culture — and the connection they have to their favorite sneakers.
