ENGINEERED GARMENTS is widely known for its well-tailored workwear, sportswear and outdoor clothing items, but it will occasionally tap into the footwear space to lend its creative hand to various sneaker brands. We’ve seen the NY-based imprint work with Dr. Martens and Suicoke this year, and now it’s going to join forces with Reebok for a sleek Zig Kinetica 2.5 collaboration. To spice up its visual presentation up, Daiki Suzuki’s imprint dresses up the kicks with a detachable shroud that is crafted with mesh and nylon that covers the quarters and heels. Given that the piece extends above the kicks, it also enhances them with a mid-cut look and feel. The top halves of the kicks are made with a blend of “Dark Brown” mesh as well as glossy black patent leather overlays. Extra pops of color can be seen through the Vibram branding that is positioned towards the heel as well as the “Classic Burgundy” accents that show face atop the tongues and heels.Standard chunky Zig Kinetica sole units are engineered with brown and black color-blocking to complete its arrangement. Retailers like Asphalt Gold are set to launch these come October 14 for €179 (approx. $175 USD).In other news, Nao Serati and Reebok celebrate South Africa’s Pride Month with a new collection.

Nick Sisombath’s Collegium Is Coming to New York City to Drop Its Next Sneaker
Nick Sisombath’s emerging sneaker brand Collegium has come a long way since it first appeared on Hypebeast’s radar in 2021, since dropping everything from loafers to clothing and appearing on both DRIVERS and Sole Mates. Now, Collegium has announced it will be coming to New York City for the first time, hosting a two-day pop-up experience that coincides with the release of its latest sneaker.Taking the familiar Pillar silhouette, Collegium welcomes a new iteration: the Pillar Alpha, colloquially called the “Cracked Pillars Pt.II.” It earns its name from its colorway and aesthetic, ushering in a mixture of white, olive, and gray tones that sees the latter hue get the cracked treatment, a nod to both its Devastator Low and the Air Jordan 3 “Elephant.”Here, the finest Italian leather and nubuck combine on a low-top silhouette with basketball in its foundations, sporting a perforated toe box, a trio of panels layered on top of one another across the vamp and mid-section, and the aforementioned cracked print decking the toe, vamp, eyestay placket and heel.Per Collegium’s philosophy and love for sneakers, even the finest of details have been well looked after. Italian rubber outsoles, removable PU insoles, and three sets of premium cotton laces all feature in and around the shoe itself. As for the pop-up, the first 150 people to attend will get a free pack of shirts and socks, while the first 75 will be gifted a pair of shoes made in collaboration with Discord.Speaking on the pop-up, Sisombath said:”The shop will have exclusive merchandise, a small exhibit breaking down the exclusive merchandise, giveaways, drinks, and fun! One super crazy fun fact is that, for me, I always said if I do something in NYC I want to be in the same area as the greats like KITH, Bape, Supreme, ALD, and the rest of the designer couture world. We’re going to do our first solo pop-up right in the middle of it all.”Collegium’s NYC pop-up will run from October 8 to October 9 and is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. EST. As for the shoes, you’ll only be able to grab them in the Big Apple. In other news, adidas has placed its YEEZY partnership “under review.”Collegium NYC Pop-Up19 Bond St.New YorkNY10012
Arsenal and adidas’ “Honor Oak” Takes North London to the Carribbean
Arsenal F.C. is a club that is at one with its community and history. And while there are other teams around Europe’s top leagues that work with their local fans — take Chelsea’s recent link-up with Soho Yacht Club for example — Arsenal is consistently representing its Black fans that make up a huge percentage of the club’s following. Recently, The Gunners connected with Aston Mack, the founder of the Orlando Freedom Fighters for the club’s third kit, and it also released a Jamaica-inspired pre-match jersey that is a celebration of Caribbean culture and the diversity within London. Now, adidas and Arsenal have re-connected with club legends Ian Wright and the late David Rocastle for a new limited-edition sneaker aptly dubbed the Honor Oak.It’s been almost 30 years since Wright and Rocastle played together for The Gunners and this new shoe has been created to celebrate the friendship between the two ballers. The sneaker — which is named after the area both players grew up in — features a dedication to both Wright and Rocastle inside the tongue alongside flags from Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago, referencing the Caribbean heritage of each player. Alongside the embroidered details, September 28, 1991, the date both players played for Arsenal together, is also included. Rounding off the design, the black shoe also includes a cannon crest on the heel alongside color accents taken from the Jamaican and Trinidad and Tobago flags on the customary Three Stripe branding. Speaking about the new sneaker, Ian Wright said:“Rocky [David Rocastle] and I grew up together, playing football on our estate, before eventually playing together at Arsenal. We were best friends and 21 years since he left us, I still miss and think about him every day. Rocky is the reason our whole estate supported Arsenal and he taught me what it meant to be an Arsenal player. The adidas Honor Oak represents the start of the football journey we both went on, coming from the Honor Oak Estate in Brockley and playing out our dream of one day playing together as professionals. I’m so happy we got to make these shoes as another small way to keep Rocky’s legacy alive.” View this post on Instagram A post shared by Ian Wright (@wrightyofficial)You can have a closer look at the adidas x Arsenal Honor Oak above and only 1991 pairs are available on the official Arsenal webstore now.
