Givenchy’s New TK-360+ Wears Gradient Heat-Bonded Graphics

Matthew M Williams’ tenure at Givenchy has brought cutting-edge products like 3D-printed nylon sunglasses, a bevy of clog-inspired footwear, and an overall recontextualization of luxury. At the forefront of this are numbers like the TK-360 sneaker, a pair loved so much by Williams himself that he chose to spotlight it in his issue of Sole Mates. Now, the luxury fashion house has debuted its updated TK-360+, a pair first seen in March and later on in the Fall/Winter 2022 runway show.Unlike the style that came before it, the TK-360+ is a laceless model that doubles down on technical execution. Here, visual innovation is elevated with a single-piece upper that’s intertwined with distinctive activewear-like stripes that give the sneaker shape and dimension. The sole unit, which is specially developed by Givenchy for this shoe, expands from the shoe’s upper and sports unique treads for stability and traction, all while not disturbing the sneaker’s equilibrium. The raised graphic grid across the uppers is actually heat-bonded lines, and each of the three colorways (white, black, or grey) are decorated with its own contrasting gradient design. It’s most notable on the black pair, which ushers in a retrofuturistic running aesthetic.Givenchy’s new TK-360+ sneaker can be seen in the gallery above and bought online or in-store now for $995 USD.In other news, Song for the Mute is dropping 100 pairs of its upcoming adidas Originals SUPERTURF collaboration.

Song for the Mute’s adidas Originals SUPERTURF “SFTM-001” Is (Kind of) Dropping

Melvin Tanaya and Lyna Ty’s Australian label Song for the Mute is about to break free from the realms of its IYKYK crowd as it steps into the world of collaboration, welcoming adidas Originals along for its Fall/Winter 2022 collection with its SUPERTURF “SFTM-001” in “Honeycomb.”The inaugural pair was first seen in Song for the Mute’s FW22 collection lookbook, styled on-foot alongside beautifully draped gray-dyed denim coats, silky double-breasted moments, baggy jeans, tie-dyed ensembles, and tracksuits (no word on these being collaborative or not, yet).Styling in the lookbook showed the versatility of the sneaker, but now thanks to a closer look, we can tell functionality and versatile attributes lie deep within the shoe itself. Taking the retro-informed SUPERTURF style, a pair kitted out with adiPRENE+, adiPRENE and Torsion comfort-stability-ensuring technology, we find a new reworking courtesy of the Aussie outpost. Here, a “Honeycomb” colorway has been applied alongside touches of white, black, and burgundy, coming onto the sneaker thanks to a mix of materials ranging from mesh to leather, suede to silky webbing for the Three Stripes and more. The latter component make fabric D-ring-like eyelets for the laces to thread through, while a striped webbing piece runs along the tongue for another hiking touch.Contrasting stitching on the heel cup sits alongside a “SFTM-001” tag on the flipside, while more zig-zag stitching can be found on the toe box too. Rounding out the pair is a heel piece that’s connected to webbing, once again ushering in a retro hiking-running vibe.Song for the Mute is dropping just 100 pairs of its first adidas Originals sneaker collaboration via the CONFIRMED app at 10 a.m. CST today for the APAC region only. An official global release date is yet to be announced. Take a closer look at the pair above and stay tuned to Hypebeast for more information.Elsewhere, Hypebeast interviewed Tom Sachs about his General Purpose Shoe.

Nike Cooks Up a Minimal Air Max Penny 1 “Photon Dust” Colorway

Nike will typically pull a retro basketball out of the vault each year and give it a plethora of moments to shine through vintage bring-backs and collaborative projects. In 2022, we’re seeing a wave of Air Max Penny 1s hit the market, and after being filtered through the lens of Social Status, the silhouette is being fashioned in a crispy clean “Photon Dust” palette.Minimalistic is probably the best way to describe this latest offering. Premium leather panels that make up the base as well as the textured molds that start at the forefoot and creep into the quarters are done up in all-white, while shaggy suede overlays are dyed in its titular color. A tiny hint of yellow shows face on the Nike logo that is positioned on the toe box while the jeweled Swooshes come backdropped in black and feature the standard crack pattern. The neutral theme continues down below as the midsoles are also styled with an angelic finish while the outsoles complement with creamy accents.Official images of the pair can be viewed in the gallery above, and you can expect these to drop via SNKRS on September 8.Elsewhere in footwear, the Nike Air Force 1 Low “Gorge Green” has been revealed.
