Nike Sun Club’s Dunk Low “Henna” Is Set for a Summer’s Golden Hour

Nike continues to prepare for the warmer days ahead with its next “Sun Club” Dunk Low, this time around presenting the pair in “Henna.”Like the pack-leading “Sun Club” Dunk and the accompanying Air Force 1, this “Henna” iteration is doused in a summer-ready hue of burnt sunset orange and is fitted with materials that further encourage a warm-weather look. For example, Nike has used white woven thread for the base of the shoe, peaking out on the toe box, mid-panel and heel, while the orange tints tumbled leather, working the mudguard, Swoosh, rear-quarter heel wraparound, eyestay placket, and heel tab, with Nike branding adorning the latter as expected.Additionally, flat laces are woven over a padded white tongue and joined by the “Nike Sun Club” tongue tag, while a bamboo-effect lace lock can be seen on the lower part of the tongue. Altogether, this “Henna” iteration is Nike’s golden hour sneaker, one to be worn as the night draws in.Complementing the theme is a Nike Swoosh-adorned sunset and palm tree graphic that’s been embroidered into the lateral rear-quarter, as well as further graphics on the interior tongue tag. Adding to the beachy theme is a Grind Rubber outsole, speckled to look as if it’s been caught in the sand.Nike’s Dunk Low “Sun Club” in “Henna” can be seen above and bought from atmos Tokyo — as well as other retailers worldwide — on May 1. The pair retails for ¥13,750 JPY (approx. $107 USD).For more summer-ready footwear, take a look at adidas Originals’ “Plant and Grow” Superstar Mule.

adidas Originals “Plant and Grow” Has Sprouted a Sustainable Superstar Mule

adidas Originals continues to ramp up its sustainable efforts with its new “Plant and Grow” initiative, and the first to come out of this new program is the Superstar Mule.Taking the original shell-toe design from 1969, adidas Originals cuts the rear section of the shoe off to create a slip-on mule design. With this in mind, the new shape lends itself well to becoming the perfect indoor-outdoor pair for the summer months, which is fitting giving adidas Originals’ “Plant and Grow” moniker. The Three Stripes position the shoe alongside the guerrilla gardening movement of the ’70s — the same period of the Superstar’s height — in turn reimagining the classic sneaker for a slower-paced lifestyle and one that values sustainability, eco-friendliness and vegan attributes. As a result, adidas Originals’ Superstar Mule in “Collegiate Green/Easy Yellow” is made using a vegan alternative to leather, while a brown speckled sole unit crafted from rubber is designed to look like soil — with the contrasting upper naturally looking like grass.Brown speckled rope laces are joined by two other flat-lace options, while an “Easy Yellow” insole is stamped with adidas’ new “Plant and Grow” logo, also appearing on the recycled cardboard shoe box. Rounding out this pair of mules is the adidas branding on the tongue, finished in gold as a nod to Superstars of the past.Take a look at adidas Originals’ Superstar “Plant and Grow” Mule above, and pick up a pair from adidas Australia for $160 AUD (approx. $115 USD).For more summer-ready shoes, check out the latest offering from Grounds.
