Nike Reveals Two More Striking Colorways of the LeBron 19

With Russell Westbrook, Carmelo Anthony, Rajon Rondo and Dwight Howard now on the Lakers squad, there’s high hopes for LeBron James this season to claim his fifth championship ring. And as the four-time champion enters into his 19th season in the NBA, he’s going to have some new Nike footwear to lace up: the Nike LeBron 19 in its “Tune Squad” and “Bred” colorways.Let’s first dive into the “Tune Squad” variation. As you can infer from its namesake, this iteration draws inspiration from the Space Jam: A New Legacy — the film that LeBron James himself starred in and released earlier this Summer. Its vivid in every sense of the word as the high-cut uppers are drenched with a golden yellow hue on its Flywire base while bold red laces, forefoot and heel molds, and the interiors usher in some contrasting. Heel molds are ornamented with an iridescent filling, and splashes of a bright blue land on the right foot’s “6” hit under the tongues — a nod to James’ jersey number — as well as the crown logos that sit towards the lower parts of the throat. Bottom units come readied with a trifecta of tones including a bright blue that coats the midsoles, an orange that tints the full-length Air bubble and a bold red that drapes the treading. Its release sibling interprets the classic “Bred” theme to a tee. Areas of the hoops-ready shoes such as the Flywire uppers, tongues, molds and midsoles are done up in a stark black, while hints of red appear on the lace loops, crowns, Swooshes, interiors and the outsoles. So far, an October 22 release date has been confirmed for the “Bred” pair, while official info for the “Tune Squad” iteration has yet to be announced. In case you missed it, Drake recently teased a “Black/Yellow Gold” Nike Hot Step Air Terra colorway.

Official Look at the Air Jordan 1 Mid “SiEMPRE Familia”

Now that the October month has finally begun, Nike and Jordan Brand gearing up for all of its upcoming festivities such as Halloween and Día de los Muertos, both of which will be celebrated with special footwear pieces from the brand. For the latter holiday, Michael Jordan’s sportswear imprint is serving up a special Air Jordan 1 Mid “SiEMPRE Familia” colorway, and it has just been unveiled through official images. There’s a profusion of cultural details to call out on this Jordan design, the first being the tonal safari-like patterns that are pasted to the collars as well as the overlays that neighbor the throat and the toe boxes. Next up are the Swooshes which keep their general shape, but they’ve been altered to look like an intricate archery arrow with red, yellow and teal hues. Toe boxes are done up with a red buttery suede, and come furnished with tooth-like figures that sit across the front. Additionally, the ball-and-wings logos have been prepared with matching accents as the aforementioned Swooshes and a dog-like figure is slapped onto the lateral heel. You can also expect the shoes to come packaged in a special Nike box that is plastered with more traditional iconography.Expect these to likely drop sometime around the Día de los Muertos holidays (November 1 and 2, 2021) via Nike and other retailers.Looking for more sneaker news? Like many, I’ve accumulated a steady supply of WFH-friendly fashion — hoodies, stretchy pants, slides, even a pair of rubber clogs — since March 2020. Now, as we begin to emerge from the depths of the pandemic, it seems fashion’s overlords have […]
