Vault by Vans and Taka Hayashi Debut Amazon-Inspired Trail Boots

Vault by Vans has moved away from its traditional silhouettes with the launch of the AMZN TRL V3 LX, created by designer Taka Hayashi. The silhouette is inspired by Vans’ Original Style #40 Buffalo boot, which is adorned with references to the Amazon rainforest. The Amazon inspiration includes a nod to the wavy path of the river and rainforest, while other natural elements such as river rock spiral etching and natural flow lines are also referenced through the boot’s detailing. Contrasting the natural influence, the hardware across the boot recalls vintage backpacks and climbing ropes. The AMZN TRL V3 LX is set to arrive in two nature-inspired colorways. The first is a mixture of “Marzipan” and “Pebble,” a nod to earth and sand, while the second colorway is “Deep Teal/Chalk Violet,” taking inspiration from the rivers and sunsets of the Amazon.Take a look at both the “Marzipan/Pebble” and “Deep Teal/Chalk Violet” colorways in the gallery above. The AMZN TRL V3 LX will release at select Vault by Vans stockists on September 17.For more new Vault by Vans silhouettes, refresh your memory of the recently-revealed Boot Skoot LX.

1992’s Nike Air Huarache LE “Toadstool” Is Returning

Back in 1991 Tinker Hatfield designed the Nike Air Huarache, and little did he know that it’d go on to become a cult staple in the footwear scene. Now, the limited-edition Huarache LE “Toadstool” is set to return as a faithful retro release.Comprised of a “Toadstool/Black/Chestnut Brown” colorway, this LE iteration harks back to 1992 and is known for using buttery brown leather across the upper that develops a patina as it ages — as per photo evidence from the blog Snidehead — and this new version looks to be much of the same.Brown leather works the toe, vamp, mid-panel, and eyestay areas, while black foam-padded mesh has been used for the throat and tongue, the mid-panel’s under panel, and the heel section where the signature Nike-branded heel strap also appears in black. Retro Huarache tongue tag roundels are served up in black with “Toadstool” detailing alongside matching laces, while a black Air-equipped sole unit rounds out the shoe’s overall design. As this pair is an “LE,” a special “Limited Edition”-stamped tag can be added to the shoe and hung through the eyelets just like the original ’92 pair had. What’s more, is that Nike has decided to release this pair in a size run ranging from UK 3 to UK 18, meaning pretty much everyone should be able to wear this rare colorway. The Nike Air Huarache LE “Toadstool” is set to release on September 10 at retailers such as Sevenstore for $174.50 USD. Take a closer look at the pair above. In other news, another pair of Dunks are releasing. This time, they come with a neutral gray finish alongside aged midsoles.
