Liberty of London’s Flowing Floral Print Hits the PUMA Basket

Heritage English pattern and fabric makers Liberty of London have teamed with PUMA for a flowing floral take on the classic Basket. Boasting a crisp upper covered in rich pink floral patterns, the collaboration combines Liberty of London’s nearly 150 years of pattern-making experience with PUMA’s iconic sporty style to create a luxurious-yet-unpretentious lifestyle sneaker.Uppers are crafted of tan perforated leather and suede — the former of which is present on the quarters and collars, the latter on the toeboxes, tongues, eyestays and heel pieces. There’s also a white leather toe cap for extra texture. After its base is set, this Basket wastes no time in adding a wealth of floral details. Lateral and medial quarter panels alike take on a rich print that shows flowers, branches and leaves. Tongue tags get in on the action too, surrounding their co-branded detailing with a dash of floral embellishment.Plain PUMA graphics appear on the lateral midfoot and the heel, with white laces bringing the top half together. The shoe’s build is rounded off with white rubber midsoles and outsoles. A special box with a healthy helping of Liberty of London floral print rounds off the look. The Liberty of London x PUMA Basket will release at retailers like Asphalt Gold come August 28. Its MSRP is set at $120 USD.For more footwear news, be sure to check out HYPEBEAST’s exclusive look at the second UNDEFEATED x Nike Air Force 1 “5 on It.”

This New Balance 920 Borrows a Familiar Color Scheme from the 850

New Balance’s 920 is a hybrid silhouette, a made-in-the-UK style that combines a stripped-back mesh upper with the midsole and outsole of the famous 990v3. Now, it’s leaning even further into its hybrid homage ethos by taking on a white, yellow and blue palette that seems to be a nod to the 850’s original launch colorway.White mesh-and-leather uppers are accented with a wide swath of colorful overlays. These include sport blue on the forefoot and towards the collar, a navy strike that runs through the quarter and crosses paths with a signature silver N logo plus touches of yellow around the quarter and collar and much more. “920” hits are embroidered on each heel, and white tongues offer a Michigan Wolverines-like blend of maize and navy on their “Made In England” embroidery. Down below, white and gray ENCAP midsoles with snappy, responsive midfoot plates provide signature cushioning while black outsoles round off the look. The New Balance 920 in white, yellow and blue is available now via New Balance Japan. Its MSRP is set at ¥30,800 JPY (approximately $280 USD), inclusive of tax.Looking for more New Balance news? Malbon Golf and New Balance Tee Up a Course-Ready 997G

Fast-rising golf lifestyle brand Malbon Golf has teamed up with New Balance for a golf-ified take on the iconic 997. Dubbed the 997G, Malbon and NB’s co-created silhouette retains many of the OG 997’s design lines, but adds a new lower half and special branding for a unique style that bridges the gap between the streets and the links. The shoe’s top half is constructed of performance mesh and waterproof microfiber leather, all dressed in white. A rich forest green provides trim around most of the overlays, and a Malbon script logo is stamped on the heel in green as well. If you peer into the insoles, you’ll see a blown-up Malbon logo that supplies a clever dash of hidden detail. Down below, white midsoles sit atop gum rubber NDurance outsoles with removable FastTwist 3.0 Pulsar cleats that ensure a solid stance on the fairway or — if you’re unlucky — the rough. Malbon Golf’s New balance 997G is set to release on the Malbon Golf webstore today, August 26. 250 special pairs that come with an exclusive towel are also available on StockX.Elsewhere in the world of New Balance, Joe Grondin (New Balance’s senior manager of global collaborations) explained the “secret sauce” behind the brand’s collaborative strategy in an exclusive interview with HYPEBEAST.
