Nike has intentions of releasing a superfluity of collaborative sneakers in the forthcoming months, and one of its partners that will be highlighted in the last few weeks of Summer and into Fall will be sacai. Chitose Abe’s fashion label is gearing up to push out a trio of Nike LDWaffle capsules, one being this vivid “Orange” rendition with CLOT.The inspiration for these three-way kicks is derived from CLOT’s Nike Air Max 1 “Kiss of Death” — an archival piece of Edison Chen’s imprint which saw a retro release earlier this year. Beige suede overlays are couple with a translucent TPE underlay. Vivid accents are what give these sneakers their visual appeal, the most dominant being a vivid orange and rich maroon hue which touch down onto the double stacked Swooshes and midsoles, tri-branded heels and the laces. From there, brighter splashed of green show up along the throat, tongues and Nike heel lettering. Rounding out its design below is a waffle-textured outsole that’s dyed with a full gum exterior. If interested in copping, you can find these releasing via worldwide JUICE stores come September 9. A blue colorway is also involved in this collaboration, but these will be dropping at a later date. View this post on InstagramA post shared by CLOT (@clot)Looking for more sneaker news? Nike’s Daybreak Type Takes on Tasty “Lobster” Colorway
Nike’s N.354 sub-label crafts conceptual takes on classic Swoosh silhouettes, one of which is the Daybreak Type. A stripped-back take on the original Daybreak — an OG running sneaker that first released in 1979 — the Daybreak Type features a bricolage build and bold color schemes, the latest of which is a tasty “Lobster” makeup.Just like the crustacean its’s named after, this Daybreak Type is dressed in a wide array of rich red tones. Dark red is used on the see-through mesh quarter panels and toeboxes, while crimson suede appears on the mudguard, forefoot overlays, eyestays and heel clip. There’s even a pinkish-red salmon tone that can be seen on the leather heel tab. Branding is supplied by printed white midfoot Swooshes plus blue N.354 hits on the aforementioned heel tab and the exposed foam tongue’s fabric tag. Blue insoles feature a hand-drawn Swoosh, white laces secure the top half and the look is completed by white EVA midsoles and black outsoles that use Bill Bowerman’s classic waffle tread pattern. The Nike Daybreak Type “Lobster” is available via the Nike webstore now, and is priced at $90 USD.For more footwear news, check out the latest installment of HYPEBEAST’s Sole Mates series, in which Frank Cooke discusses the Union x Nike Air Force 180.
