New Balance 992 Gets Hit With a Red, White and Blue Arrangement

The New Balance 992 has been picking up the tempo in these finals week of Summer in terms of its new reveals, some of which have fallen under the collaborations category through team-ups with the denim makers of Levi’s and footwear retailer DTLR. And to cap off the month of August, the silhouette is calling our attention back to its GR lineage and welcoming a brand new red, white and blue installment into its family.Louder accents and various materials outfit this patriotic iteration. A bold blue tone clings onto the mesh toe boxes as well as the suede overlays found on the mid-foot, mudguards, forefoot and heels. The secondary shading here is a bright red hue which provides strong pops across the forefoot, collars and “N” logos, the latter of which are engineered with chenille material. Angelic notes also make their presence felt here as they show up on the tongues, laces, and the rear panel of the midsoles. Finishing touches include more red splashes on the forefoot of the midsole along with stark black treading.Check out a closer look here above and note that they’re available now on the New Balance site for $175 USD.Elsewhere in footwear news, Salehe Bembury has teased his fourth New Balance collaboration.

Closer Looks at the sacai x UNDERCOVER x Nike LDWaffle “Midnight Spruce” and “Night Maroon”

sacai is coming with a frenzy of sneaker collaborations throughout this later half of the Summer and early stages of Fall 2021. And after kicking off its releases with a two-pack with fragment design, Chitose Abe’s fashion label is now preparing to drop a trifecta of Nike LDWaffle propositions with UNDERCOVER. Early imagery of the capsule’s “Bright Citron” started to show up earlier in the Spring, but now we have a closer look at the “Midnight Spruce” and “Night Maroon” variations. There are various design elements on these makeups that each one shares. This includes the underlying Swooshes in the lateral and medial sides which are treated with gray suede, the muted gray overlays that are positioned next to the throat, forefoot and heels, white leather heel overlays that feature a black co-branded hit, branding that’s printed on the heels of the midsoles and the solid black leather overlays that act as the mudguards and arrive on the rear. The biggest differences are shown through their accents. The “Midnight Navy” pair utilizes its titular shading to coat the nylon base and gets offset with bold “University Red” accents. Its release sibling allows its nominal color to also fill in the nylon layer, while splashes of “Team Royal” fill in the foreground Swooshes, liners and outsoles.A release date has not yet been confirmed, but it’s likely that these will launch in the coming months via Nike and other retailers.Elsewhere in sneaker news, a closer look at the Off-White™ x Nike Dunk Low Lot 33 colorway has surfaced.

Closer Look at the Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 990v3 “Outside Clothes”

Joe Freshgoods’ New Balance 990v3 “Outside Clothes” is a deeply heartfelt design — one that Freshgoods created to pay homage to the joys of summertime in his home city of Chicago. “Being told you smell like outside represents the early stages of what fun meant. From neighborhood block parties to hanging on the porch all day with your homies, you knew you had a wild day when your mom said you smelled like outside,” Freshgoods stated when the collaboration was officially announced.A Chicagoan through and through, Freshgoods ensured that his latest New Balance collaboration saw an early release in the Windy City, but with its global arrival around the corner HYPEBEAST has provided a closer look at its colorful stylings. A representation of the tones and textures of the great outdoors, the “Outside Clothes” features a multitude of brown suede shades across its upper plus brown synthetic toebox detailing. This color palette is inspired by the ground under the wearer’s feet, and provided with an earth-and-sky contrast thanks to a blue mesh base and blue midfoot logos. Even grass gets in on the equation, thanks to green details scattered around the top half. ENCAP midsoles continue the shoe’s ethos on the bottom half.Besides the shoe’s build, it features several special details. As can be seen above, “Outside Clothes” is split between the left and right heels — and the standard “Made in the USA” branding is replaced by “Made for Us” hits. “JFG” replaces the regular 990 series embellishment on the lateral side, insoles feature a cloudy print and an “Outside Clothes” graphic and each pair also comes equipped with a special hangtag. Even the box gets in on the action with a cloud print of its own and musings from Freshgoods himself on the inside of the lid. Get a detailed look at the Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 990v3 “Outside Clothes” above and expect it to hit the New Balance webstore September 10. Its MSRP is set at $220 USD.
