David Tournaire-Beauciel’s futuristic sneaker label SHOES 53045 unveils their latest silhouette, the Hik’Air boot, inspired by a mix of vintage technical gear, music, and other references from everyday life.Hik’Air features tan desert tones with a technical upper merging mountaineering, military, and motocross boot details. Below, the shoes get a major lift from the brand’s signature Bump’Air platform soles. While the boots may not be the best for mountain trekking, they’re built to be comfortable walking shoes for urban exploration. The featured campaign artwork created by French illustrator Apollo Thomas imagines the boots in a mountainous landscape on a futuristic planet. Extraterrestrials and explorers are featured walking the trails and enjoying the great outdoors. To celebrate their latest creation, SHOES 53045 is releasing a drop-themed online mixtape, “TAKE A HIKE,” on Spotify, incorporating a “mix of new and old school sounds perfect for any adventure.”Like all other SHOES 53045 products, the shoe is completely vegan. Additionally, with each pair sold, the brand will make a donation to plant one tree, with more than 21,000 trees already planted. The Hik’Air retails for $500 USD and launches on July 28 at 9 p.m. EDT on SHOES 53045’s website. Vans’ Acer Mesh Ni Gets Fitted for the Desert
Summer 2021 has been quite a busy season for Vans as it has been pumping out copious amounts of collaborative projects with the likes of Metallica, SE Bikes, Civilist and more. And while these joint ventures have done their job in terms of garnering further attraction for the brand, the Anaheim-based imprint is diverting our attention back to its inline items and shining a light on the Vans Acer Mesh Ni to show off its latest “Desert Camo” installment. The upper halves of this low-cut variation are primarily made with a light and breathable mesh along with canvas overlays. The former is treated with a creamy coating and pops out on the tongues and mid-foots while the latter is decorated with brown, beige and a dusty olive “Desert Camo” patterns that cover the toe boxes, parts of the mid-foot and the heels. Extra ivory accents are present on the laces and heel overlays and the eyelets contrast with dark brown finishes. Branding is found on the white Vans tabs that are situated towards the forefoot along with a tonal “ACER” spell out that is stitched into the heels. If interested, you can cop these right now on HBX for $100 USD.For more sneaker news, peep a look at the recently unveiled Vans SK8-Hi LX and Authentic LX colorways with Vibram soles.
