For many luxury fashion houses, sneakers have become a profitable avenue for brands to step into a world that’s previously excluded them — but as the realms of high-end and streetwear continue to merge, Lanvin capitalized on this with the release of its Curb Sneaker. Now, the fashion house has dropped its ’90s skateboarding-inspired pair in a fool-proof colorway of black-on-black.Previously, we’ve seen the Lanvin Curb Sneaker appear in black with gum sole details, as well as a host of colorful colorways too. However, this iteration is stepping very closely on the heels of the original Osiris D3, which although did appear in many colorways, always looked best in all-black.In true Lanvin tradition, no detail has been overlooked. The upper is crafted from smooth and hairy suede, while a woven fabric (looking almost like carbon fiber) appears on the bottom quarter of the side panels. Leather has been used to highlight the curvaceous cut-outs, while rubber takes form on the heel and tongue tabs. The tongue itself is heavily padded in homage to the skate shoes from the ’90s, and this is continued thanks to a set of fat black laces and a thick black sole unit. Rounding out the look are rubber panels on the medial side of the toe box, and a row of blackened metal D-ring eyelets.Lanvin’s Curb Sneaker in black can be seen above and purchased from stockists such as Concepts now, where it retails for $890 USD.In case you missed it, check out the Sole Mates issue in which 24kGoldn speaks about the Lanvin Curb Sneaker.

First Look at UNDERCOVER’s Nike ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT% 2
Jun Takahashi’s UNDERCOVER and Nike have a longstanding collaborative relationship, and this is only set to develop as the Japanese imprint has just provided a teaser of its upcoming sneaker, taking on the Nike ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT% 2.The collaboration comes at a time when we’re waiting for a number of UNDERCOVER x Nike pairs to release. For example, the threeway between UNDERCOVER, sacai, and Nike on the LDWaffle “Bright Citron” and the brand’s “UBA” Dunk are still doing the rounds on the ruminating Internet, and now we have another pair to impatiently wait for.Taking the base form of the ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT% 2, UNDERCOVER adds a predominantly red lightweight upper alongside semi-transparent panels on the toe box, vamp, and sides. It also comes as part of the “GYAKSOU” collection — Nike and Takashi’s running-centric division — which makes sense given the sneaker’s origins.”GYAKSOU” branding appears in block white letters on the lateral side on top of the black Swoosh emblem, as well as on the lateral front-quarter where it reads “Gyaksou International Running Association.” A red ZoomX sole unit, white laces, and Nike branding on the tongue rounds out the pair. All we know so far is that the UNDERCOVER x Nike ZoomX Vaporfly NEXT% 2 is coming soon. Stay tuned to HYPEBEAST for more information as news unfolds. In case you missed it, check out this fragment x sacai x Nike LDWaffle that’s just surfaced.
