For many luxury fashion houses, sneakers have become a profitable avenue for brands to step into a world that’s previously excluded them — but as the realms of high-end and streetwear continue to merge, Lanvin capitalized on this with the release of its Curb Sneaker. Now, the fashion house has dropped its ’90s skateboarding-inspired pair in a fool-proof colorway of black-on-black.Previously, we’ve seen the Lanvin Curb Sneaker appear in black with gum sole details, as well as a host of colorful colorways too. However, this iteration is stepping very closely on the heels of the original Osiris D3, which although did appear in many colorways, always looked best in all-black.In true Lanvin tradition, no detail has been overlooked. The upper is crafted from smooth and hairy suede, while a woven fabric (looking almost like carbon fiber) appears on the bottom quarter of the side panels. Leather has been used to highlight the curvaceous cut-outs, while rubber takes form on the heel and tongue tabs. The tongue itself is heavily padded in homage to the skate shoes from the ’90s, and this is continued thanks to a set of fat black laces and a thick black sole unit. Rounding out the look are rubber panels on the medial side of the toe box, and a row of blackened metal D-ring eyelets.Lanvin’s Curb Sneaker in black can be seen above and purchased from stockists such as Concepts now, where it retails for $890 USD.In case you missed it, check out the Sole Mates issue in which 24kGoldn speaks about the Lanvin Curb Sneaker.Click here to view full gallery at HYPEBEAST
