The Nike Swoosh is certainly one of the most recognizable logos across the globe, and 2021 marks 50 years since graphic designer Carolyn Davidson brought the iconic check to life. So to celebrate a five decades of branding, Nike is rolling out an expansive “First Use” Pack, and the latest iteration to join its ranks is the Nike Dunk High “University Gold.” At the time of writing, this colorway is the fourth Dunk High to be officially unveiled. Its design presentation gravitates towards tones that align with the Fall season. Its titular shade wraps most of the upper here as it appears on the smooth leather collars, quarters and toe boxes. Next door are shaggy suede overlays, all of which are drenched in a mustard-esque hue. Like its previously revealed makeups, the Swooshes on the lateral side arrive in outlined form while the medial sides are filled in completely. Both are dripped in white and provide a subtle-yet-effective form of color-blocking. Additionally, a “First use June 18, 1978” notation is printed below the lateral Swooshes to nod to the logo’s birthday. Moving southbound, the midsoles are baptized in full white and come mated with a gum outsole.Official images can be viewed in the gallery above, and you can likely expect Nike to release these in the coming months for $110 USD.For more footwear news, Louis Vuitton and Nike are joining forces for 21 Air Force 1 colorways.

Natasha Cloud Dresses the Converse Run Star Hike With Floral Graphics
In 2020, Natasha Cloud of the Washington Mystics was welcomed with open arms into the Converse Hoops family. She’s the first ever WNBA athlete to sign with the sportswear brand that’s based in Boston, and now she’s looking to further expand upon her product lineage with a floral rendition of the Run Star Hike. This lifestyle makeup reveal has arrived hot off the heels of her All Star BB Evo “Petal To the Metal” PE which hit the market earlier in June 2021.Like the aforementioned hoops-ready installment, this newly launched makeup leans into the flower theme. Petal graphics are dropped off onto the side panels and atop the throat via white outlines against a “Pink Quartz” background, the former being devised with a slightly darker shading. Tongues, laces and rubber toe caps are also drenched in the rosy hue, leaving the only other contrasting notes to be visible through the metallic silver eyelets. Chunky midsoles and hiking-ready saw-tooth tractions follow suit with more “Pink Quartz” skins to finish off its design presentation.Looking to cop? This Natasha Cloud x Converse Run Star Hike collaboration is available now via Converse for $110 USD.For more footwear news, Converse uncovered its “CX Collection” that featured the Weapon CX, Run Star Motion, Aeon Active CX and more.
Just Don’s First In-Line Sneaker, the Courtside Hi, Is Inspired by Michael Jordan’s Ferrari Testarossa 512TR
Since being founded in 2011, Just Don has managed to create a wealth of desirable collaborative sneakers by blending hoops, hip-hop and sportswear with luxurious materials on Nike, Jordan Brand and Converse kicks, but now the Don C-helmed brand is taking a step in a bold new direction by releasing its first in-line sneaker: the Courtside Hi. Drawing from Don C’s Chicago roots and lifelong love of basketball, the Courtside Hi boasts a silhouette and construction inspired by Michael Jordan’s famed 1992 Ferrari Testarossa 512TR.Arriving in “White/Teal” and “Black/Cream,” the shoe’s most obvious piece of Ferrari inspiration is its heel, which boasts ridged detailing that replicates the 512TR’s rear grill and seats. Apart from this high-horsepower piece, there’s plenty of design features that seem to pull from early ’90s Nike footwear — the cut out collar and Just Don badge-equipped neoprene tongue call to mind images of the Air Flight Huarache, while the forefoot overlay gives off some slight Air Flight ’89 vibes. Each pair is made in Italy of ultra-high quality leather, and sits atop a thick midsole with a shape inspired by the 512TR’s doors to round off its build. The Just Don Courtside Hi in “White/Teal” and “Black/Cream” will release on the Just Don webstore come June 25.For more footwear news, take a look at Virgil Abloh’s 21-style offering of Louis Vuitton x Nike Air Force 1s.
