Detailed Look at the Air Jordan 1 “Pollen”

After Jordan Brand’s forthcoming Air Jordan 1 “Pollen” was recently revealed, we now have a detailed look at the two-tone black and yellow take on Michael Jordan’s first signature silhouette. In recent weeks, it’s become a popular point of speculation on the sneaker interwebs that the “Pollen” is a subtle nod to Nike’s ultra-rare Dunk High “Wu-Tang” from 1999 due to its near-identical color scheme and its moniker — the Wu-Tang Clan’s members often referred to themselves as the “killer bees,” so a “Pollen” title certainly fits the bill. Potential inspiration aside, the “Pollen” supplies a healthy dose of classic Air Jordan style. Toeboxes, quarters, and collars are all constructed of black tumbled leather, while mudguards, eyestays, Swooshes, collar flaps and heels take on the smooth yellow leather that gives the shoe its name. Tongues are constructed of black nylon and embellished with a yellow/white/black fabric tag, while further branding is supplied by the black ball-and-wings logo on the collar flap. Down below, white midsoles and yellow outsoles round off the look. The Air Jordan 1 “Pollen” currently holds a tentative release date of August 21 — ironically, a day before GZA’s birthday — though this has yet to be officially confirmed by Nike. The MSRP will likely be set at $170 USD.In other Jumpman news, get an official look at the full Summer 2021 Air Jordan retro collection.

Nike Dunk High “Dark Sulfur” is Officially Unveiled

When looking at much of the success that Nike has had in recent memory, much of the credit has to go to its classic Dunk. The eyes of sneaker aficionados across the globe are glued to this silhouette and its every move, and it has now officially unveiled its impending “Dark Sulfur” makeup. In similar fashion to the many “Be True to Your School” offerings that have sprung up, this newest piece chooses to go with two-toned color-blocking. Uppers, which are erected from smooth leather materials pronounce its titular shade across the Swooshes and overlays. From there, the rest of the base layer ushers in a white hue to shroud the shoe strings, quarters and collars to create a home-inspired version of the Nike Dunk High “Varsity Maize”. Nike Air hits are present atop the tongues and insoles, the former of which sees through to yellow font and white backgrounds while the latter is presented with white lettering surrounded by a yellow base. Stacked underneath are midsoles covered with angelic surfaces, while the bottoms are dyed in a “Dark Sulfur” skin.Nike hasn’t announced an official releasee date just yet, but it’s likely that these will hit SNKRS and select retailers sometime during Spring/Summer 2021.In case you missed it, Nike won its restraining order case against Lil Nas X’s “Satan Shoe”.

Official Looks at the Nike Dunk Low “Michigan” and “Team Green”

Nike continues to ride the Dunk wave by distributing a smorgasbord of colorways out to the market, and among the most popular are the “Be True to Your School” variations. Next in line for the Dunk Low is the “Michigan” rendition which nods to the home of the Wolverines, in addition to the “Team Green” option that pays homage to the Michigan State Spartans.Much like the Nike Dunk High “Michigan” that retro’d back in September 2020, one of these forthcoming makeups follows the same exact color cadence, only it’s been chopped down to a lower profile. Smooth leather uppers alternate between “Midnight Navy” overlays while “Varsity Maize” hues plaster all over the toe boxes, quarters, tongues and collars. Bottom pieces go for the two-toned look by arriving with crispy white midsoles and navy treading to complete its University of Michigan — the institution known for breeding the “Fab 5” in Chris Webber, Jalen Rose, Juwan Howard, Ray Jackson and Jimmy King — aesthetic. Its “Team Green” offering is dialed to match up with the Michigan State school colors — the very college that NBA players like Magic Johnson and Draymond Green attended. Overlays, Swooshes and treading do most of the talking as they are each coated in the shoe’s nominal hue. Elsewhere on these collegiate kicks, you’ll find nothing but bright white finishes. Both pairs are expected to launch on April 16 in both men’s and adult sizes via Nike SNKRS and select retailers. For additional sneaker news, check out an official look at the Nike Air Max Pre-Day “Summit White”.
