Compassion has always been a core value at Twisted X, so when Hurricane Melissa swept through Jamaica last month, upending lives and creating $10 billion in damages, the Texas-based footwear company naturally stepped in to help where it could.
Twisted X Global Brands teamed with nonprofit Soles4Souls to donate nearly 12,000 pairs of new shoes (worth $1.8 million) to hurricane victims. The brand gifted an additional 3,000 pairs to Soles4Souls for future disaster relief efforts, bringing the value of the total donation to $2.25 million.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with those affected by this tragedy, and we feel an immense sense of responsibility as a company to take further action,” said Prasad Reddy, CEO of Twisted X Global Brands. “We hope to provide a small sense of normalcy during times of turmoil and Soles4Souls helps us deliver meaningful support in real time to those who need it most.”
“Soles4Souls has a long history of crisis response, and Twisted X continues to be a partner we can rely on to rise to the occasion in the darkest of times,” said Buddy Teaster, President and CEO of Soles4Souls. “There is a great need for shoes and clothing, and working with Twisted X helps us fill those gaps.”
To date, Twisted X has donated 63,000 pairs of shoes, valued at more than $7.5 million, to Soles4Souls to help those in need. To learn more about Twisted X’s philanthropic work, visit twistedx.com/pages/our-purpose.
