All-pro tight end Travis Kelce of the Kansas City Chiefs is mostly known for two things: his elite play on the NFL gridiron, and his giant personality off of it. Now, Kelce’s exploits both on and off the field have provided inspiration for his new project with Nike, a six-pack of Blazer Mid ’77 Vintage styles — dubbed “Tru Kolors,” “Kansas City,” ‘The Heights,” “K.I.D. Fire,” “The Runway” and one unnamed colorway — for the Nike By You customization platform. Each pair is made from a tear-away corduroy upper that fades away with wear or distressing to reveal a tapestry-like fabric base layer. However, all six are vastly different in color scheme and inspiration. The multicolored “Tru Kolors” nods to Kelce’s clothing brand, the brown and red “Kansas City” acknowledges his Chiefs, the green and gum “The Heights” is a nod to Cleveland Heights High School, where Kelce first made a name for himself on the football field, and the gray/green “K.I.D. Fire” is designed by Kenniah, a young designer Kelce met through his 87 Running foundation. Lastly, a blue-toned “The Runway” is likely inspired by Kelce’s pregame outfits and an un-nicknamed style features a large green Swoosh wrapping around its heel to complete the pack. The Travis Kelce x Nike Blazer Mid ’77 Vintage By You collection is available now on the Nike webstore, with each pair priced at $120 USD.For more from the Swoosh, get a detailed look at the Off-White™ x Nike Air Force 1 Low “University Gold.”Click here to view full gallery at HYPEBEAST
