Todd Snyder and Converse Celebrate the Legacy of Jack Purcell With New Collection

Todd Snyder and Converse have joined forces for an extensive collection of footwear and apparel inspired by the legacy of Jack Purcell — the namesake of one of Converse’s most famous shoes. The collection’s two shoes and extensive set of apparel are inspired by the “vintage sartorial codes of racquet sports,” and accompanied by a “You Don’t Know Jack” campaign that spotlights a wide variety of athletes and cultural figures from DJ Clark Kent to WNBA star Natasha Cloud and Olympic fencer Miles Chamley-Watson.The collection’s centerpieces are its two takes on the Jack Purcell, a shoe with a nearly century-long history that’s been worn by everyone from Kurt Cobain to James Dean and Ray Eames. Here it’s done up in both “Navy” and “Egret” with rich suede details, embroidered Todd Snyder logos and hidden hits of pink that nod to preppy oxford shirts. Apart from these new-jack embellishments, both pairs retain a signature “smile” on the toe cap and trim midsoles. Apparel consists of everything from track suits to rugby shirts, sweaters, hats and more. Key pieces include a plaid-patterned tracksuit inspired by tattersall shirt fabrics, Ivy-style thick cotton rugby shirts and a flocked crewneck with an original “Jack Purcell Racquet Club” graphic embroidered on its front. The Todd Snyder x Converse Jack Purcell collection is available on the Converse webstore and Todd Snyder online outpost now, with prices ranging from $35-$160 USD.For more from Converse, check out the brand’s extensive 2021 Pride collection with new takes on the Chuck 70, Run Star Hike and more.Click here to view full gallery at HYPEBEAST
