Timberland Enlists Suzanne Oude Hengel for Knitted “Future73” Collection

Timberland on Monday revealed the third installment of its Future73 project — this time, in collaboration with Suzanne Oude Hengel, a knit researcher, technician, footwear designer and founder of Knit in Motion (KiM). Titled the “Timberland x Suzanne Oude Hengel Future73 Collection,” the range offers up the all-new Knitted Slip-On Clog and a fresh take on The Original Timberland Boot, as well as a slew of knit apparel. On the footwear front, the collection includes the Timberland x Suzanne Oude Hengel Future73 Knit 6-Inch Boot, which marks the first time that the signature silhouette has been done up in yarn, with a one-piece sculptural green knit upper and a protective TPU layer. Similarly, the Knit Clog takes a woven design approach, with a knit upper that conforms to the foot. For both, Hengel used the spacer fabrics that she has developed through her research.Meanwhile, the knitwear capsule utilizes an array of vibrant Italian yarn to produce something “unlike anything Timberland has ever done.” Across the range, a unisex SS Knit Tee features gradient kimono sleeves in colorways including orange, red and white or “Lime-Punch” and “Skylight.” Additionally, the Knit Base Layer and coordinating Knit Skirt appear in “Dark Denim,” offering a contrasting palette, and the multicolored birdseye jacquard-knitted Blanket Scarf arrives in extra fine merino wool. The Timberland x Suzanne Oude Hengel Future73 Collection will launch on June 6 on Timberland’s webstore and in the brand’s stores. Prices range from $150 USD to $350 USD. Peruse the range in the gallery above.Elsewhere, take a first look at the Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low Golf.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
