Nike Basketball originally designed the Nike Lebron 9 “Watch The Throne” in 2011 for Kanye West and Jay-Z to celebrate the launch of their historic Watch the Throne album and world tour. A decade later, the pairs have now received an official release date for the mass market.The special-edition Nike Lebron 9 was inspired by Givenchy’s designs under Riccardo Tisci and are dressed in black Hyperfuse mesh and faux-carbon weave with gold hits on the lateral swooshes, upper eyelet panels, tongue lettering, and metallic Lebron Soldier plaques on the heels. Floral prints on the sock liner and laces, accompanied by a stylized gold lace lock, pay homage to the Watch the Throne album artwork designed by Tisci.
