Nike adds a new design to the Nike Air Trainer SC series in a Kansas City “Royals” colorway. Originally debuted in 1990, the silhouette was created in honor of former American pro baseball and football player Bo Jackson.Named as an All-Star in both sports, Jackson was a left fielder and designated hitter for the Kansas City Royals in the MLB while also playing running back for the Los Angeles Raiders in the NFL. Around 1989 and 1990, the Alabama native together with Nike launched the “Bo Knows” campaign to promote the release of the cross-training shoe. This latest installment takes on a blue forward build with a white perforated leather base matched with a mix of Powder Blue and Royal Blue hues hitting the additional eyelet molds, fabric overlays and midsole. Underlining the theme of the sport are the shoelaces sporting a stitch-like pattern resembling that of a baseball. A black tongue and lateral overlay act as a backdrop to further highlight the cool water tones, while the Nike brand name stands out as a stenciled outline above the heel cap. A white outsole is slid under to complete the look.Look out for the Nike Air Trainer SC “Royals” to release in the coming months at select retailers and via Nike.In case you missed it, here are the official images of the Nike Air Jordan 1 Low SE “Pomegranate.”Click here to view full gallery at HYPEBEAST
