The New Balance Rainier “Eclipse” Comes Alive at Night

New Balance is slowly but surely reintroducing its hiking-inspired Rainier silhouette into the footwear market. The Boston-based imprint marked its return with a tan leather iteration that debuted late last year, launching several colorways and a three-part Aimé Leon Dore collaboration ever since. The latest in-line edition lands in a gloomy “Eclipse” palette, featuring a dark construction reminiscent of the night sky. Moody navy suede panels encapsulate the release, running through the mudguards, quarter sections, and heel counters. Tonal mesh underlays receive a slight metallic finish, while smooth leather surrounds the ankle areas beneath usual suede trimmings. GORE-TEX badges signal its protective lining for extreme weather conditions alongside black New Balance insignia that hits the medial panels. Metal boot eyelets secure its rope laces into place while the design sits on VIBRAM rubber sole units designed with trail-ready traction patterns for daring outdoor adventures. Take a closer look at the New Balance Rainier “Eclipse” in the gallery above. The boot is schedueled to drop via New Balance and select retailers on February 15 for $170 USD. In other footwear news, Balenciaga’s 3XL Trainer from Summer 2023’s “The Mud Show” is selling out already.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
