A collaborative titan in the footwear industry, Montreal-based design studio JJJJound has consistently produced hit releases for brands such as New Balance, Reebok, ASICS and more. Expanding upon this, the label pointed towards yet another New Balance launch earlier this month. Now, it has officially revealed the New Balance 990v3 “Montréal” as an exclusive to JJJJound’s founding city.Familiar with the model, JJJJound now sees it in a brown colorway tailored to both Montreal and fall. Its upper toggles between a mesh base and suede overlays with brown shades supported by black reflective “N” logos, off-white laces and silver branding elements. These collaborative touches include a nod to the 990 series at the lateral heel, JJJJound and NB callouts at the heel and a traditional debossed New Balance tongue. Its ENCAP-backed midsole balances silver, off-white and white while the rubber outsole appears in black. Custom packaging alongside alternate laces in olive complete the specifications of the colorway.Release for the JJJJound x New Balance 990v3 “Montréal” has been scheduled to take place exclusively for Montreal customers November 25 at 12pm EST. Priced at $265 CAD (approx. $198 USD), pairs will be ordered online for pickup at JJJJound’s upcoming installation in the city.
