The adidas Orketro Is Inspired by Brutalism and 90s Running Sneakers

Energy is certainly high around adidas right now as its crossover collaborations with the likes of luxury houses Gucci and Balenciaga have created a substantial amount of buzz. However, the brand is also looking to spark some energy for its inline offerings this season by pushing out newer silhouettes, and one that has just emerged on our radar is the adidas Orketro. For this fresh model, the Three Stripes delved into its 90s archive for inspiration and blended that influence with futuristic characteristics. The kicks are formatted with a low-top body and are constructed with mesh uppers and streaky, futuristic overlays that almost speak to Kiko Kostadinov’s contemporary design language for his various ASICS collaborations. This particular colorway comes backdropped in a “Bright Blue” hue while a “Carbon” tone is tossed onto the the overlays around the throat and the stripes that don the forefoot. Bottom pieces are loaded up with adiPrene cushioning and come surrounded with a stealthy paint job.Retailers like Asphalt Gold are slated to drop these come June 1 for €149 (approx. $160 USD).In case you were looking for more sneaker news, Mark Gonzales’ new adidas Aloha Super collaboration has been unveiled.Click here to view full gallery at HYPEBEAST
