The Tabi trend has transcended the IYKYK insider’s world to become a focal point of many brands’ operations, à la Maison Margiela and more recently Nike with its ISPA Road Warrior (which was recently spotlighted in Sole Mates), but there has always been one caveat with the split toe trend — the price. However, the emerging label Tabi Footwear is changing this with its range of slip-ons.Thanks to the London-based boutique UJNG you can now get your hands on Tabi Footwear’s range of… tabis. It’s a simple model, producing well-made, affordable, stylish and functional shoes in clean, classic colors — a foolproof tactic if anything.Tabi Footwear’s signature offering is the slip-on high-top trainer, which is made from Tencel Flyknit and TPU before being placed on an injected EVA outsole. Its anthropomorphic design is only highlighted by the lack of detail, showcasing the traditional Japanese shape of the split-toe shoe silhouette. Rounding out the pair is the rubberized branding on the heel tag.Priced at just £140 GBP (approximately $186 USD), Tabi Footwear can be bought on UJNG’s website and in its Shoreditch-based store now.In case you missed it, check out OVO’s Suicoke collaboration.Click here to view full gallery at HYPEBEAST
