Following its collab with Palace earlier this month, heritage American footwear label Sperry has tapped preppy streetwear brand Rowing Blazers for three limited-edition boat shoes.Composed of rPET certified recycled materials, the collaborative silhouette reinvents Sperry’s signature A/O boat shoe in vibrant hues of red, yellow and blue. The crossover design includes a Vibram lug sole, two-toned hiker laces, shock-absorbing EVA help cups and a Rowing Blazers-branded pull.“It’s an honor to be tapped by Sperry once again,” said Jack Carlson, creative director of Rowing Blazers, in a statement. “We’ve created some amazing designs over the past few years. This time, I wanted to take it back to basics. I grew up wearing the A/O boat shoe, and it’s an American icon.””But I’m interested in exploring alternative and more sustainable materials in footwear,” he added. “The rPET material lends itself particularly well to bright colors, and Rowing Blazers is all about color. The Vibram lug sole makes the shoe more substantial and more modern to me, and the Tasman hiker lace also.”The capsule is now available to shop on Sperry and Rowings Blazers’ websites.
