Following the release of the adidas Originals SNS GT “LA,” Sneakersnstuff and adidas join forces once again to tell the story of the original “Stockholm GT” shoe from 1980. The upcoming SNS GT offering celebrates the city of Tokyo, featuring the official colors of the city’s flag — purple and white. With the help of costume stylist Keisuke Baba and illustrator Jun Inagawa, SNS crafts new retro-style sneakers inspired by the city’s strong casual football subculture and U.K. influences.The special-edition pairs arrive in hairy suede uppers with white leather three-stripes branding, “SNS GT” gold foil imprints on the laterals, and tonal smooth leather heel tabs. Leather tongue tabs arrive in a structured three-fold makeup with vertical perforations and gold adidas branding. Rounding out the design are mismatched graphics-heavy insoles by Jun Inagawa and rum-colored Handball Spezial outsoles which fuse “archival innovation with a modern update.”The SNS x adidas Originals SNS GT “Tokyo” will be available for $119 USD via the SNS app with pre-orders closing on June 10, and in-store at SNS Tokyo.
