Skechers Annual Pier to Pier Friendship Walk Brings out the Stars

Celebrities turned out in force for Skechers’ 17th annual Pier to Pier Friendship Walk on October 19th from So Cal’s Manhattan Beach Pier to Hermosa Beach Pier and back. Among the stars who made a surprise appearance at the fundraiser dedicated to empowering children with special needs and raising funds for education were L.A. Dodgers’ pitcher and Skechers ambassador Clayton Kershaw, Brendan Donovan of the St. Louis Cardinals, comedian Howie Mandel, TV personality Brooke Burke, and actor Patrick Muldoon.
The event, sponsored by Nickelodeon, raised more than $3.2 million, a record breaker that helped bring the event’s 17-year total raised to more than $31 million.
“Clayton’s passion for children is as legendary as his victories on the field,” said Michael Greenberg, Skechers president and Walk co-founder. “To join us on the cusp of the World Series speaks to his love for this cause and the impact we can all have when we team up for our kids. We are so grateful to have him, Howie, Brooke, Brendan, Nickelodeon, and all of our incredible volunteers who show every year that their commitment to children knows no bounds.”
“This mission really hits home for us because it’s exactly what we strive to do through Kershaw’s Challenge—to give kids opportunities they might not otherwise have, whether that’s in the classroom, on the field, or in life,” said Kershaw. “What Skechers and the Friendship Foundation are doing through this Walk perfectly aligns with that vision—it’s about inclusion, empowerment, and creating a foundation for the future.”
Proceeds from the Skechers Pier to Pier Friendship Walk benefit:

The Friendship Foundation, which fosters inclusion for children of all abilities through 60+ year-round programs in art, music, fitness, and education.
The forthcoming Friendship Campus—a 62,000-square-foot, first-of-its-kind life center opening in 2026 to provide vocational training, life skills, and creative learning spaces for individuals with special needs.
Public school education foundations, helping improve classrooms, labs, and teacher resources across Southern California.
The Skechers Foundation National Scholarship Program, which has awarded over $2.3 million in scholarships to deserving students nationwide.
