Now, the retro runner is set for a Winter 2022 return in two epochal colorways, “White/Silver” and “Lemon/Chrome.”The sneaker is a zeitgeist of its time, and in many ways, evocative of the footwear market today. After the late 2010s’ dad sneaker boom came a slew of runners informed by the past from competitive labels like New Balance, adidas, and PUMA, and now it’s Saucony’s turn to take back its crown. Like all good runners from the past, the ProGrid Triumph 4 is made using open-pored mesh and shiny synthetic leather overlays for that quintessential noughties aesthetic, sitting alongside brand-specific design details like the frequent chrome-colored orbs that decorate wavy synthetic lines all over the upper.Elsewhere, branding from Saucony and the sneaker’s moniker hit up the tongue in the original fashion, while nods to the shoe’s proprietary ProGrid technology are referenced in gummy badges on the lateral-side rear-quarter heel. Arch-lock technology is embedded into the sole unit, as is the brand’s Super Rebound Compound (SRC) technology that acts as a shock absorber for the foot, encouraging a smooth transition into the midfoot.Retailing for €159 EUR (approx. $163 USD), the Saucony ProGrid Triumph 4 is set to drop at retailers like Asphalt Gold on November 18.
