Rockport has a new MVP. The brand has recruited NFL quarterback-turned-Fox Sports analyst Matt Leinart as its newest ambassador. A former Heisman Trophy winner best known for his years with the Arizona Cardinals (2006–2009), Leinart will be the star of Rockport’s Fall 2026 campaign “10 Minutes to Kickoff,” which launched September 9—just in time for the NFL’s regular season—on Rockport’s social media accounts and Rockport.com.
Meant to underscore Rockport footwear’s all-day comfort, versatility, and performance-driven design, the campaign shows Leinart finding himself in a traffic jam with minutes to spare before his youth football team’s practice is set to start. (In real life, Leinart is the founder of Southern California’s The Matt Leinart Flag Football League for kids in grades K-8.) Thinking quickly, he leaves his car and races through a nearby neighborhood, sprinting over hedges and sprinklers and reaching the field in time for the team’s first drill. Talk about a winning play.
The partnership speaks to Leinart’s demanding schedule and his need for shoes that can keep up. “Life looks a lot different for me now than it did when I was playing,” he says. “I’m going from the broadcast to spending time with my family. I want to feel good in what I’m wearing and know it can keep up with my day. That’s what I appreciate about Rockport.”
“Matt’s evolution from elite athlete to broadcaster is a great reflection of how careers and lifestyles continue to evolve,” says Christina Martin Pieper, EVP, Lifestyle at Authentic, owner of the Rockport brand. “He brings the same drive and versatility to life today that defined him on the field, and that makes him an exciting partner for Rockport. Through this campaign, we’re bringing to life our belief that footwear should be ready for whatever the day demands without asking consumers to compromise on comfort or style.”
