Rack Room Shoes has donated 1,300 pairs of shoes to Houston area children at a recent Shoes for Kids event. Hosted by the Navigation Area Business Association, the event was held Dec. 15, at Stephen F. Austin High School. Local volunteers and representatives from the association distributed shoes to hundreds of families. Each child received professional sizing and a new athletic shoes.
“We are proud to be part of an initiative that works to help Houston children succeed,” states Brenda Christmon, senior director of Brand Communications. “This is an event we look forward to attending and participating in each year.”
Over the years, the Charlotte, NC-based Rack Room Shoes has donated more than 30,000 pairs of shoes to Houston families through the annual program. Christmon notes that when at-risk children receive new footwear, it immediately improves a child’s self-confidence and performance in school.
All hands were on deck bringing smiles and boosts of self esteem to children in need,
thanks to Rack Room Shoes’ gift of new shoes.
