Porsche Design Taps PUMA for 3D-Printed MTRX Sneakers

Porsche Design, the automaker’s production studio famous for its high-performance ready-to-wear and accessories, has dropped off its latest footwear collaboration with PUMA, dubbed the 3D MTRX Sneaker. With tech-forward design at the fore, the mod trainer centers a 3D-printed structure with several fashion-conscious style elements.Keeping performance, durability and comfort in mind, the silhouette includes a lattice construction in the midsole, inspired by Porsche Design’s signature iconography. Meanwhile, the shoe’s innovative recovery system, “Superior Energy Return,” reinforces natural running motions and reserves 83% of a runner’s energy with a horizontal forward movement. The design’s upper is composed of premium full-grain leather, while an evoKNIT textile lining provides a snug, sock-like fit. The grid structure on the trainers features myriad air-filled cubes, which work in tandem with the grid strut’s flexible composition to maximize comfort. The sneaker is available in monochromatic black and white finishes, with sizing ranging from UK 7.5 to UK 12.The Porsche Design 3D MTRX Sneaker is now available to purchase in stores and on the brand’s website for $430 USD.
