Sotheby’s and Jordan Brand Announce a Notorious B.I.G. x Air Jordan 13 Auction

Jordan Brand has unofficially called 2023 the “Jordan Year” and it will be celebrating all year long with a series of special initiatives. First up on its list? The Beaverton imprint has partnered up with Sotheby’s to conduct an exclusive auction for 23 pairs of Notorious B.I.G. x Air Jordan 13s. The love letter to the iconic hip hop artist was initially crafted in 2017 to celebrate Biggie’s 45th birthday, but they’ve resurfaced to commemorate the 50th anniversary of hip hop and self-belief.Styled with a relatively understated presentation, the kicks are anchored by a faded black hue that seeps into the pockmarked overlays, as well as the suede tongues, mudguards and toe boxes. Direct shout-outs to the Brooklyn rapper can be found via the tongues that display a silhouette of his face along with the tongues that split their branding between “It was all a dream” on the right shoe and “If you don’t know, now you know” — lyrics from his hit record “Juicy.” Hangtags with Christopher Wallace Memorial Foundation branding come with the kicks, and the aglets are fitted with “dream” spell-outs in red font. Additionally, the insoles have been adorned with black and red plaid patterns and are stamped with “Notorious B” hits on the heels.23 pairs are now up for bidding starting at $1 USD here through February 3, 2023. All proceeds from the auction will go towards the Christopher Wallace Memorial Foundation which works towards empowering inner-city youth with educational learning instruments, grants, mentorship programs and sponsorships. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Jordan (@jumpman23)In case you missed it, on-foot shots of the Air Jordan 1 High “Lucky Green” have emerged.

Nike Adds the Air Max 90 to the “Moving Company” Family

Nike is adding to its “Moving Company” umbrella — and the Air Max 90 silhouette is the latest addition to the family. In August last year, Nike revealed the “Moving Company” theme, with the footwear giant using the Air Force 1 silhouette as its opening installment. Following the AF1, Nike then unveiled its Air Max 97 as a natural succesor, featuring references to the fictional company on the tongues and sock liners. Now, it lands on the Air Max 90 with a unique “Sail/White-Ashen Slate-Hemp” color palette. This new offering comes constructed in a mix of materials — such as leather, mesh, and suede — with a selection of decorative embroidery across the mudguards and lateral sides. Furthermore, customary “Moving Company” motifs hit the lateral ankle and insoles to complete the design. You can take a closer look at the Air Max 90 “Moving Company” above and it will be available on the official Nike website and with select retailers from February 9 for $140 USD.In other footwear news, take a look at Dior’s 3D-printed footwear collection.

Details include the separated Tabi toes, an added heel pull tab for convenience, and exposed foam tongue tabs. Completing the design below are the 2002R’s signature N-ERGY midsoles equipped with two-tone ABZORB SBS heel cushioning.Take a closer look at Rifare’s remade New Balance “2002R TABI” below.
