DUKE + DEXTER Hit the Road With New Booted Styles for FW22

Following up last season’s saucy Playboy collab collection, British footwear brand DUKE + DEXTER is back for Fall/Winter 2022 with new booted styles and slip-on iterations of its famed loafers. The brand hit the road (literally) and traversed the rugged terrain of Scotland in its latest campaign lookbook. Set against the picturesque Scottish Highlands, D+D’s new “Right to Roam” campaign features new footwear styles including the “Sean Slipper,” which is a shearling-lined backless loafer dressed in plush corduroy material. Also highlighted is the collaborative “Fracap” hiking boot that was put to nature’s test in Scotland’s muddy Trossachs. The new D+D x Fracap “Darwin” hikers come in a tan suede, a black leather style with red laces and a brown leather version with a white canvas logo midsection. The new “Sean” slippers are available in black and light grey. Available on October 26, each of the latest offerings can be found on the brand’s website. Elsewhere in fashion, Brooklyn-based jewelry brand Personal Fears crafts unconventional new unisex styles.

RANRA Delivers a Surreal Approach to the Salomon Cross Pro

Nordic-born, London-based label RANRA is grounded in sustainable practices and crafts contemporary technical gear with a renewed approach. This summer, the design duo behind the brand stepped into a new era by giving their label a clean slate under a new identity. Previously known as Arnar Mār Jōnsson, RANRA explores design and production through an ambiguous lens — from sustainable textile production to furniture assembly. For Fall/Winter 2022, RANRA connects with Salomon for its debut footwear collaboration. The sportswear trailblazer takes a backseat while the RANRA team delivers a surreal approach to its Cross Pro model. Drenching the sneaker in natural materials, eco-friendly rubber, cork, and leather make up the shoe’s upper half, merged with protective Ventile cotton canvas for increased support while in motion. RANRA pays tribute to traditional footwear artisans by replacing standard adhesives with exposed stitching across the medials. The collaborative pairing presents two colorways tinted with Icelandic Elftingar ferns handpicked in the country’s Urriðavatn lake. The sneaker sports a split design with beige and black uppers alongside contrasting gum-like textiles. Pull cord laces are secured through branded straps that wrap around the rears, while debossed Salomon lettering hits the heel counters. Further markings adorn the linear tongue tags, lace embellishments, and base dubraes. Informative cork insoles complete the design settled atop track-ready Contagrip sole units. Both colorways of the RANRA x Salomon Cross Pro will drop on November 3 via Salomon and select retailers globally. In-store installations will be held in Paris, Beijing, London, and Marseille on the same day to celebrate the launch. Elsewhere, read Hypebeast’s interview with the design duo behind RANRA.

Craig Green’s CG SCUBA STAN Revitalizes a Legend

Craig Green is never one to shy away from experimentation, especially when it comes to footwear collaborations with adidas. The British menswear fashion designer is constantly adding to his ever-growing portfolio with the Three Stripes by releasing new footwear pieces that have come dressed in premium materials while also emitting personality and edge. Now, he’s ready to present one of his latest sneaker offerings in the form of the CG SCUBA STAN, and it’s a design that merges adidas’ archival aesthetics with the evolving features of the CG SCUBA PHORMAR which was first introduced during Fall/Winter 2021.The new sneaker is made with a classic Strobel construction and combines a Scuba outsole with adidas Originals’ iconic Stan Smith leather upper. Staying in keeping with the history of the collaborative partnership, Green has also included a wraparound tension cord — a regular feature of the designer’s work — and it connects to the Scuba sole. The shoe is available in beige, black, and the classic white and green colorways, while each sneaker also delivers an intricate interplay between materials and contours with carefully-placed paneled detailing. Rounding off the design, the CG SCUBA STAN’s Trefoil references ancient artifacts, designed to create a synergy between the past and future. You can have a closer look at the new CG SCUBA STAN from Craig Green above and the sneakers will be available from October 31 on the official adidas website and with select retailers. In other news, take an on-foot look at the Nike Dunk High “Lunar New Year.”
