AURALEE Strips Back the New Balance 550

After teasing the understated collaboration all the way back in March, Japanese label AURALEE has now officially revealed its upcoming take on New Balance’s 550 silhouette. The collaborative release sees the basketball-inspired silhouette stripped back, fitting in with AURALEE’s understated and premium aesthetic and allowing the personality of the wearer to shine through. The sneaker’s upper is entirely dressed in “Ecru,” including the usually colorful details such as the “N” logo and heel tab. The muted colorway continues over the grain leather uppers, while some sections are dressed in a subtle beige color. The sneaker’s sole unit is finished in a vintage-inspired off-white tone, which gives the sneaker a retro and pre-worn aesthetic. The pared back tones that run across the sneaker act as a continuation from AURALEE’s Fall/Winter 2021 collection. As well as removing colors from the upper, AURALEE has also stripped the classic basketball tongue branding. Instead, the sneaker’s minimal aesthetic continues with a plain panel of leather sitting there in place of the normal logo.Take a look through the AURALEE x New Balance 550 in the gallery above. The collaboration is due to release at select stores in Japan on July 16, with a global release to follow on July 26.For more New Balance 550 releases, take a look at size?’s “Burnt Ochre” colorway.

Official Images of UNDEFEATED’s Nike Dunk Low “Dunk vs AF-1”

UNDEFEATED and Nike’s latest “Dunk vs AF-1” initiative first kicked off with the releases of its Air Force 1 “Ballistic” and Dunk Low “On Your Feet Kid” in mid-June 2021. However, as several leakers have confirmed, there’s more products to come between these two imprints in the coming months, one being this blue and purple Dunk Low “Dunk vs AF-1” that has just been officially unveiled by the Swoosh. The impending offering is a love letter to the past as its combination of colors and reptilian textures are a nod to the LA streetwear company’s Nike Air Force 1 Low InsideOut collaboration from 2006. A royal blue tone makes the strongest presence on these collaborative kicks as it stands out atop the leather toe boxes and tongues, nubuck heel overlays, collars and interior lining. It also appears on the forefoot overlays but it’s mixed in with black snakeskin scales. Subtle notes of white also pop up on the uppers through the suede Swooshes, five strike branding on the tongues and lower lateral heels and the Nike lettering that’s embroidered into the rear. Quarter panels provide some darker contrasting and come filled in with a regal purple. Midsoles are pre-yellowed to channel a vintage-y effect and come connected to purple treading.UNDEFEATED and Nike have not confirmed its exact release date yet but it’s likely that these will see a release in the coming months. If you haven’t already, be sure to peep a closer look at the Nike Dunk Low “SiEMPRE Familia”.

The Off-White™ x Nike Air Force 1 “University Gold” Is Releasing Soon

With Virgil Abloh’s “Figures of Speech” exhibit having recently opened at ICA Boston, it appears as if Off-White™ and Nike’s Air Force 1 “University Gold” will see a release in the coming weeks. According to a post from the Off-White™ Instagram page, the “University Gold” (or “Lemonade,” as it was dubbed in the caption) is set to arrive at select Off-White™ boutiques “soon.”Though this announcement is somewhat vague and opaque when it comes to providing exact details, its timing is sensible. The “University Gold” was first teased all the way back in May 2020, and rumors have long swirled that its release would accompany the opening of Abloh’s exhibit at ICA Boston. Much like the Off-White™ x Nike Air Force 1 “MCA” — which was also released in celebration of an Abloh exhibit — the Off-White™ x Nike Air Force 1 “University Gold” features a bright, monochromatic color scheme split by bold silver Swooshes and embellished with signature Off-White™ details like Helvetica text hits and zip ties. Keep your eyes peeled for a specific date of arrival or a shock drop of the Off-White™ x Nike Air Force 1 “University Gold” at Off-White™ boutiques. Information regarding a potential Nike SNKRS drop has yet to be revealed.
