C2H4 Updates Atom and Quark Sneakers For SS21

Following its FW20 introduction and first venture into footwear, the LA-based designer Yixi Chen’s label C2H4 presents two new iterations to its signature silhouettes for Spring/Summer 2021 — Atom and Quark. The former being an exclusive collaboration with mastermind JAPAN.Staying true to the original aesthetic of the Atom, the military boot style hi-top comes in a premium suede upper with rope laces wrapping around the ankle for support, sitting atop the brand’s typical use of Vibram soles. For the “C2H4 X MMJ “”ATOM ALPHA””” update, mastermind JAPAN adds its own signature apocalyptic touches such as metal key tags to the laces and a skull and bones chain latched onto a “C” on the lateral sides to signify the collab.Elsewhere, the Quark “Alpha Pewter” keeps to its early 2000s skate influence. The lo-top sneaker is placed on an extra chunky Vibram sole with its “Abrasion Gray” upper serving lighter hues to previous models. Musical notes adorn the sneaker with a clef covering the tongue and also spotted on the heel tab. Subtle scripted branding can be seen near the collar and this minimal design boasts a nostalgic feel. Both sneakers are currently available to purchase from the SVD website. The “C2H4 X MMJ “”ATOM ALPHA””” retails for €490 (approximately $596 USD) and Quark “Alpha Pewter” €395 (approximately $480).In case you missed it, check out the official images for the upcoming adidas YEEZY 450.
