After enrolling a vibrant pair of “University Red” Dunk Highs to its forthcoming “First Use” pack, Nike now enlists another epochal silhouette to the party in the form of the unmistakable Air Force 1.Celebrating 50 years of the Swoosh, this latest addition houses a printed “First Use June 18, 1971” beneath an embroidered Swoosh — the year design was first realised — while “1971” can also be found on the insoles too.Dressed in a crisp “Light Stone” colorway, each sneaker boasts a Swoosh-jewel on the laces, and writing on the tongue explaining the pack’s inspiration, with the modern Nike font we’ve become accustomed to is replaced with more retro-looking text.Nike’s Air Force 1 “First Use” is set to drop on June 18 and will be available via Nike and Asphalt Gold’s online raffle. In other news, take a look at some more Dunk Highs that are a part of Nike’s “First Use” pack.

Vans’ “Surf Supply” Collection Introduces Intriguing Colfax Boot
While many of us recognize Vans for its skateboarding history, its surfboarding credentials are often overlooked — but this is all set to change thanks to Ainara Aymat, Leila Hurst and Karina Rozunko, who have just dropped their Vans “Surf Supply” collection. The trio of Vans surfers has each applied their distinctive styles and aesthetics to a number of new and old Vans pieces. This head-to-toe collection combines the surfer’s must-have essentials and elevated basics, as well as new pair of boots that are truly unexpected from the sportswear giant.First up is Ainara’s Colfax Boot, which is a leather, rubber, and webbing mixed-material bootie that nods to Vans’ iconic slip-on silhouette. Served up in an oxblood red shade, we find checkerboard prints on the Chelsea Boot-like throat, as well as a large black rubberized sole unit and sidewall that will take on the elements of the beach.Leila’s Slip-On SF has been given a “surf twist,” but in essence, it’s really just a slip-on that’s made from smooth creamy-gray suede and is rounded off with a tonal checkerboard running stripe and complementing sidewalls. Rounding out the footwear offerings is Karina’s Style 36 (which is the early version of today’s Old Skool), presenting itself in black leather and suede with gold-toned eyelets and a cream sidewall.Complementing the sneaker drop is a range of apparel, from high-waisted straight-leg chino pants to a workwear-inspired oversized denim jacket. You can see the whole collection in the lookbook above, and shop the range on Vans’ website and in-stores now.In other news, Bodega has unveiled its upcoming New Balance 990v3 in all its detailed glory.
Nike Revamps 2021’s Free Run 5.0 With Recycled Materials
Don’t call it a comeback, but summer 2021 might be the season of the Nike Free. The popular Free Run 2 is set to return to market, the Free Run Trail has begun rolling out again, and the latest installment of the Free Run 5.0 series — which was just announced — features recycled materials and a whole new cushioning setup.Free sneakers have always been about flexibility and natural movement, which the 2021 iteration of the Free Run 5.0 provides with a sock-like knit upper that wraps the foot, plus a reworked midsole that Nike Running promises is “lighter, softer and more responsive” thanks to a new foam compound and dynamic flex grooves. The new Free Run 5.0 introduces an element of sustainability as well: each pair is made of at least 20 percent recycled content by weight. From a looks standpoint 2021’s Free Run 5.0 features a trim upper with a thick collar and a duo of Swooshes, large on the lateral quarter, small on the medial forefoot. Classic Nike Sportswear Sunburst hits appear on the tongue and the insole as well. Three colorways are set to release at launch: a soothing “Steam/Olive Aura/Light Bone,” an airy-yet-sporty “Off White/White/Grey Fog” and, of course, a classic “Black/Dark Smoke Grey/White.”Look for the 2021 iteration of the Nike Free Run 5.0 to release on the Nike webstore soon.
