The Nike Dunk Low Takes on a Familiar “Goldenrod” Colorway

Nike is set to release the Dunk Low in a familiar “Goldenrod” colorway. Created for the Iowa Hawkeyes in 1985 as part of Nike Basketball’s “Be True to Your School” pack, revitalized in 1999 by the Dunk High “Wu-Tang,” skate-ified in 2005 by the SB Dunk High “Iowa” and brought into the present day by 2020’s Dunk High “Varsity Maize” plus 2021’s Air Jordan 1 “Pollen,” to name a few, the black and yellow “Goldenrod” color scheme has lived many lives across the Nike Sportswear, Nike SB and Jordan Brand spectrum, but this marks its low-cut Dunk debut.By now, you’re probably familiar with “Goldenrod” stylings. If you’re not, however, the Dunk Low “Goldenrod” blends yellow leather mudguards, eyestays, Swooshes, collar flaps and heel tabs with black leather toeboxes, quarters and collars. Tongues are made of black nylon and embellished with yellow tag detailing plus trim. Laces are yellow as well, and a black Nike spellout appears on the heel. The insole’s Nike graphic is done up in bright orange for a unique pop of flair, and down below white midsoles team with yellow outsoles to complete the look.At the time of writing, the Nike Dunk Low “Goldenrod” has yet to receive a release date. However, it’s likely to hit retailers this fall for $100 USD.If you need even more Dunk Low news, be sure to check out official images of the Dunk Low “Georgetown.”

ASICS Goes the Eco-Friendly Route for Its Latest GEL-LYTE III “Kind Leather Pack”

It’s certainly an impressive feat if a sneaker can still be sold on the shelves thirty years after it was first released. And that’s the case for ASICS and its classic GEL-LYTE III which is currently in the midst of celebrating its 30th anniversary in 2021. The model was recently unveiled in a duo of sporty colorways, but now it’s further advancing its Summer roll out with a two piece “Kind Leather Pack”.The inspiration behind this capsule’s namesake is the sustainability factor as each iteration’s upper half is engineered with recycled materials. Two colorways are included in this assemblage — a “Grey” pair and an “Ivory” offering. Both takes make use of their nominal hues to cascade over the eco-friendly leather underlays while angelic finishes are lent to the interior lining and entire bottom pieces. Branding is found via the embroidered “GEL-LYTE III” hits that appear on the lateral heels as well as the ASICS hits on the heels, all of which arrive with a tonal aesthetic. You can check out a closer look at this sustainably-made ASICS pack up above and make a note that these will be dropping via atmos on August 13. Retail price is set at ¥14,300 (approx. $130 USD) a piece. In other footwear news, ASICS recently unveiled a duo of Mt. Fuji-inspired GT-IIs.
