New Balance’s Black and Purple 992 Is Both Night and Light
A favorite of Steve Jobs and arguably the most loved sneaker in the 99X line, New Balance’s 992 is one of the brand’s standout silhouettes — from its OG gray colorway to more vibrant makeups like this new black and purple pair. Both night and light in its colorblocking, the fresh makeup is hitting shelves just after a vibrant aqua blue pair made its debut in recent weeks as well.Uppers are composed of pitch-black mesh, suede and leather, with ultra-dark purple suede present on the heel counter and mudguard. There’s also a pop of vibrance to be had on the midfoot, thanks to neon yellow trim around the signature N logo. White New Balance text appears on the tongue, and a “USA” spellout on the heel acknowledges the shoe’s premium construction. Down below, midsoles take on the same rich purple tone as the uppers. Most of the above-mentioned “light” details can be seen here as well, with an ocean blue heel clip, orange forefoot ABZORB block and neon yellow outsoles bringing festive shades into the mix. This black and purple New Balance 992 is available on the New Balance webstore now. Its MSRP is set at $175 USD.For more New Balance news, check out Joe Freshgoods’ entire New Balance 990v3 “Outside Clothes” collection.
