Back in 2017, Berlin-based brand Overkill connected with PUMA for its “Pfeffiboys” collaboration, a move that was inspired by the peppermint-flavored liqueur “Berliner Luft” and the roots of Berlin Atzen. Five years later, the duo is back together, this time collaborating on PUMA’s XS 7000 and Mirage OG models for the new “Berliner Luft” collection. Keeping things close to the design of the 1991 version of the XS 7000, the new retro-designed sneaker is coated in a “Mint” color hue, while being constructed from a variety of fabrications that stretch across premium suede and mesh. Co-branding can be spotted on the tongue and heel while the disc and insole also feature similar branding details. The PUMA Mirage OG is continuing to keep its sprinter-shoe roots with its streamlined silhouette and lightweight feel. The nylon’s “Mint” upper is used to reflect the design of Berlin Air, while the other technical color details can be seen in red which takes inspiration from the current “Berliner Luft” bottle. Rounding off the design of the shoe, Overkill and PUMA have also included intricate colored lining and foam stripe edging while the customary co-branding can be seen on the tongues, inner soles, and also embossed onto the heel. You can have a look at both PUMA models above and they will be available exclusively at the Overkill booth at The Ground Festival on July 8 and instore at Overkill Berlin and Cologne on July 9. All leftover pairs will also be available from July 10 on the official Overkill website.
