Update: Salehe Bembury has been sporting his forthcoming Moncler Trailgrip collaboration all over the globe in recent months, rocking it courtside at a Los Angeles Lakers game and now taking it to Paris Fashion Week with him as well. Though images of the shoe have leaked out in bits and pieces, we’ve now gotten our most complete look yet at the design, which Bembury rocked to the recent pop-up for the “Wear Test Sample” colorway of his Crocs Pollex clog. Created by Bembury and Moncler’s head of footwear design Nathan VanHook — who, prior to working at Moncler, created silhouettes like the Air Yeezy 2 and ACG Mountain Fly during a 12-year stint at Nike — the design appears to be a modified version of the Trailgrip sneaker. It retains the Vibram sole and wrapped, spiked toe bumper of its counterparts, but offers a vastly different paneling scheme on its upper, one that’s more abstract and whimsical than the no-nonsense hiking paneling on the Trailgrip GTX. Palette-wise, it uses a variety of earth tones both muted and bold, ranging from browns, tans and oranges to pinks and greens. There’s also a Bembury-specific logo hit on the tongue and a large GORE-TEX embellishment on the midsole, another divergence from the Trailgrip GTX’s small, debossed GORE-TEX graphic. Though the inspiration has yet to be revealed, the overall design looks topographical, a fitting continuation of the outdoors-focused design language Bembury has established through collaborations with New Balance, Crocs, ANTA and Brandblack. (@caminotv)At the time of writing, a release date or pricing information for the Salehe Bembury x Moncler Trailgrip has yet to be announced. However, standard Trailgrip GTX colorways retail for $750 USD, meaning this model will likely be in line or slightly more expensive than that price point. Though $750 USD is much more expensive than the $100-$250 USD MSRP range of Bembury’s past collaborative work, it’s far from the highest MSRP shoe he’s designed: that distinction goes to the Chain Reaction, his most notable project from his time at Versace — though his name was not directly affixed to that silhouette.Read the original article below and stay tuned for more information as it’s made available.Original Story: Initially teased last month, Salehe Bembury has now delivered the first look at his upcoming Moncler collaboration. The uppers of the shoe sport an intricate design marked by a variety of materials, dynamic paneling, and stitched detailing.
