WNBA star Elena Delle Donne is officially releasing her first signature shoe, the Nike Air Deldon. The Washington Mystics forward is considered one of the greatest WNBA players in the history of the sport and is sure to be a future Basketball Hall-of-Famer. Her influence goes beyond the court as an avid supporter for the LGBTQIA+ and physically challenged community. Elle Donne’s first signature shoe uses Nike’s Flyease system that allows easy entry for wearers. It was important for Delle Donne to design a shoe that was inclusive for those who struggle with putting on shoes due to physical inhibitions. Her sister Lizzie was born with cerebral palsy and autism and has been an inspiration for the ease of wear designs. For additional comfort and responsiveness, Air Deldon uses the Air Strobel unit which spans across the entire foot-bed. Her logo is embroidered on the lockdown tabs at the ankle while her initials “EDD” is seen on the small forefoot flap.
