Official Images of the Air Jordan 1 Low “Sashiko”

Update: Earlier this year, a preview of a “Sashiko”-themed pair of Air Jordan 1 Lows popped up. The Japanese needlework technique is referenced throughout the pair’s unique stitching that reaches from the toe to the heel. Elsewhere, the midsole bears a similar aged aesthetic with inconsistent yellowing across its presentation. A firm release date for the pair has not yet been announced, however, it’s expected to land on shelves in the coming months via Nike and select retailers.Original Story: The Air Jordan 1 Low is the latest Nike silhouette to receive the “Sashiko” treatment. Embodying the Japanese concept of Wabi Sabi, upcoming pairs feature white canvas and distressed denim uppers with exposed stitching stretching over the raw-hemmed overlay panels.Jordan ball-and-wing logos are embroidered on the heel and black tumbled leathers are used for the lateral Swoosh and heel counter. Cork insoles feature mismatched graphics and debossed Jumpman logos decorate the tongue tab. Rounding out the design are aged midsoles and black rubber outsoles.Take a closer look at the Air Jordan 1 Low “Sashiko” above and stay tuned for more details.Elsewhere in footwear, TOGA and Suicoke ready new MOTO and TONO sandals.Click here to view full gallery at Hypebeast
