NOAH and Vans’ Style 24 LX Collaborations Pay Homage to the Famed Venice Curbs

NOAH and Vans have joined forces for two special takes on the under-the-radar Style 24 LX, a throwback skate shoe from the late ’80s. Each is dressed in an archival camouflage pattern, and nods to an influential place in skateboarding history: the famed Venice Beach curbs, a spot where legends like Natas Kupas and Eric Dressen cut their teeth that’s still in heavy use today. One style uses a rich red base with black camouflage markings while the other opts for a more airy look with a white base below its black camo. The pattern selected was extremely specific — several Vans riders like the late Jeff Grosso wore silhouettes with a similar embellishment in the ’80s. Each also features a rubberized toe guard, a feature that was revolutionary at the time as it enabled skaters to get more durability and strength out of their footwear. High-gloss rubber midsoles with contrasting heel badges round off each look. Both colorways of the NOAH x Vans Style 24 LX are set to release via the NOAH webstore come April 8. The MSRP has yet to be announced. For more news on upcoming sneaker releases, be sure to check out the latest installment of HYPEBEAST’s weekly Best Footwear Drops series.Click here to view full gallery at HYPEBEAST
