Nike’s latest Air Force 1 is inspired by the resilience of Mexican women. Featuring a vibrant “Red Plum” colorway, the shoe is decorated with traditional patterns that pay homage to Mexican heritage — this women’s shoe will potentially be part of a larger collection that will commemorate International Women’s Day early next month. The shoe sports delicate suede uppers, colored in “Light Arctic Pink” and “Wild Violet.” Most of the shoe is covered by graphics of abstract shapes and glyphs depicting flora and animals to represent the enduring spirit of women in Mexico throughout history. The shoe’s “Nike” tongue tag has been imagined in the style of these motifs, complemented by insoles displaying additional traditional prints. Contrasting these colors and patterns are a set of white laces, eyelet panels, a Swoosh and a midsole, finished off with a thin purple outsole. No official release dates have been confirmed, but Nike’s Air Force 1 “Red Plum” is expected to land soon on Nike’s website for $100 USD.In case you missed it, here’s a look at Nike’s new Women’s Dunk Low featuring a sour “Lemon Drop” motif.Click here to view full gallery at HYPEBEAST
