Nike Sportswear to Release the Air Tuned Max “Celery” in Retro Form

Nike is home to an incessant list of lifestyle runners, and this year the Swoosh has explored through its 1999 archives and elected to bring back one of its popular silhouettes from that era: the Air Tuned Max. Official imagery of this iteration has popped up shortly after the silhouette’s “Midnight Navy” installment was revealed.OG schemes which entail darker-toned bases coupled with drab-yet-shimmery overlays are tapped for this retro proposition. And if its color coordination looks somewhat to you, that’s because British rapper Skepta alluded to this very colorway for his Nike Air Max 97 collaboration that launched back in Fall 2017.Most of the real estate is dependent on a “Dark Charcoal” hue which is tasked to flood the knitted base and abstractly-shaped TPU molds that hug the lateral and medial panels. Iridescent overlays abut these darker sections atop the toe caps and ankles as well as the heels, the former of which are presented in “Saturn Red” while the latter channels the a muted green to reflect that of its moniker. Additionally, vivd yellow hits make an appearance atop the throat trimming, backside’s Swooshes and insole backdrops.Semi-chunky midsoles which are sculpted with wavy patterns are dripped in all-black and complemented with a translucent rear end which encases faded brown Air units. So far, a European release date of February 25, 2021 has been confirmed for retailers such as Subtype for $250 USD. A stateside Nike SNKRS launch has yet to be announced. In case you missed it, detailed photos of the Nike Dunk High “Syracuse” retro have surfaced.Click here to view full gallery at HYPEBEAST
